Claims
- 1. A method of forming a needle having a bent tip, the method comprising: providing a body having a wall defining a lumen and an exterior surface, said body comprising a penetration end having a beveled face wherein the intersection of said beveled face and said wall forms a penetration tip; andbending said beveled face to displace said penetration tip beyond said exterior surface.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein:said body has a front side and a back side and said beveled face is positioned on said front side; and said beveled face is bent at an angle in the range from about 20° and about 40°.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said bending comprises:placing a fulcrum at a selected location on said beveled face; urging said beveled face towards said fulcrum whereby said beveled face is bent at said selected location and said penetration tip is displaced beyond said exterior surface.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said beveled face has inner and outer peripheral edges, the method further comprising:dulling said inner and outer peripheral edges.
