The present disclosure relates to the field of communications, and in particular to a network node selection method and apparatus and a network node activation method and apparatus.
With the rapid development of cellular network mobile communications, the number of mobile users increases dramatically, and mobile traffic is likely to be gradually multiplied by 1000 times in future. Apart from the dramatic increase of users, the demand for high-rate services also contributes to the huge increase of mobile traffic, for example, data services such as multimedia and video stream put forward a relatively higher requirement on the performance of future networks. The improvement on user experience is absolutely accompanied by a higher requirement on the coverage and capacity of a network.
In a related communication technology, another solution to coverage and capacity boosting is the use of a Moving Network (MN), which is used to enhance and expand the coverage and capacity of an existing underlying overlay network. An underlying overlay network can activate a moving network node in an MN to provide coverage according to the coverage and capacity of a network and service requirements. The moving network node can effectively relieve the problems of a weak-coverage region and an overloaded region in an underlying overlay network. However, because a moving network node has defects such as irregular movement and uncertain residing time, the stability of a network is undermined, and the utilization rate of network resources is low, which is unfavorable to the improvement of the overall performance of the network.
In conclusion, a solution to the selection of a proper moving network node is not provided in a related communication technology.

No solution to the selection of a proper moving network node is provided in a related communication technology. According to the method shown in
In an exemplary implementation process, the one or more moving network nodes may be network sites changeable in position, for example, a vehicle-mounted relay station.
In an exemplary embodiment, in act S202, the network node selection information of the one or more moving network nodes may be acquired in any one of the following two ways.

That is, a moving network node may directly send network node selection information to the underlying network site when the moving network node is powered on. Alternatively, after receiving a network information inquiry request sent from the underlying network site, a moving network node may report the network node selection information of the moving network node in response to the network information inquiry request.
The network information inquiry request message may refer to a search request sent by the underlying network site to acquire the network attribute information of a moving network node. The search request may include: the information the underlying network site requests a moving network node to report for the purpose of selecting a moving network node.

In an exemplary implementation process, the operational parameter information may further include: moving network node identification information of the moving network node to be activated.
At act S302, network node selection information is sent to an underlying network site. The network node selection information is used by the underlying network site for selecting a moving network node to be activated.
At act S304, a node activation command message is received from the underlying network site and an activating operation is performed according to the node activation command message.
In an exemplary implementation process, the underlying network site may be a communication site which provides underlying network coverage and whose network site position keeps unchanged, for example, a macro eNB.
In an exemplary embodiment, in act S302, the network node selection information may be sent to the underlying network site in one of the following two ways.

At act S1, operational parameter information is acquired from the node activation command message. The operational parameter information may include one or more of: transmitting power of the moving network node to be activated, running time of the moving network node to be activated, and a movement area of the moving network node to be activated.
At act S2, the moving network node to be activated in the running time range using the transmitting power according to the operational parameter information is activated.
In an exemplary embodiment, after act Si of acquiring operational parameter information from the node activation command message, the method may further include the following acts S3 and S4.
At act S3, it is determined that a current position is outside of the movement area. The movement area is a position area in which the moving network node to be activated is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message.
At act S4, a notification message is sent to the underlying network site to notify the underlying network site that the current position is outside of the movement area.
In an exemplary embodiment, the movement area may generally refer to an area which is included in the service region of the underlying network site and in which coverage or capacity enhancement is needed.
The foregoing exemplary implementation process will be further described below with reference to several exemplary implementation modes.
At act S402, an underlying network site (e.g. a macro eNB) evaluates the capacity or coverage in the service area of a macro eNB according to the number of affiliated connected terminals in the service area of the macro eNB or the signal intensity and the positions of the terminals and determines a position range where capacity enhancement or coverage expansion is needed; and
At act S404, when powered on, a moving network node sends network node selection information to the underlying network site (e.g. a macro eNB) to which the position area of the moving network node belongs so as to notify the macro eNB of the newly added moving network node.
In the exemplary embodiment, the network node selection information may include, but is not limited to be, at least one of:
(1) the node identification information of the moving network node;
(2) the position information of the moving network node;
(3) the tolerable residing time of the moving network node;
(4) the coverage range of the moving network node; or
(5) the wireless access information of the moving network node.
The node identification information of the moving network node may refer to the identifier, for example, a NodeB ID1, of the moving network node (e.g. a vehicle-mounted site).
The position information of the moving network node may refer to information, for example, longitude and latitude information, which indicates a position where the moving network node currently resides.
The tolerable residing time of the moving network node indicates the time elapsing from the moment the moving network node initiatively sends network node selection information to the moment the moving network node leaves the current position.
The coverage range of a moving network node may refer to the maximum coverage distance the moving network node can provide when working at a current position and the maximum transmitting power of the moving network node.
The wireless access information of the moving network node may refer to the type of an access network the moving network node can provide, for example, GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A, and WLAN.
At act S406, the macro eNB may perform an evaluation operation according to the network node selection information, for example, the position information, the coverage range and the wireless access information, reported by the vehicle-mounted site in combination with the weak-coverage or high-capacity position area included in the network of the macro base station and estimated in act S402. If the newly added vehicle-mounted site can increase the coverage or capacity of the network, then a node activation command is sent to the vehicle-mounted site.
The node activation command message may include, but is not limited to be: the operational parameter information of a moving network node, for example, transmitting power, the running time and the movement area of a moving network node, where the running time indicates how long a moving network node is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message from the underlying network site. The movement area is a position area in which the moving network node to be activated is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message. If the current position of the moving network node is not in the movement area, then the moving network node needs to notify the underlying network site of this situation.
At act S408, after receiving the node activation command from the macro eNB, the vehicle-mounted site may start running at the transmitting power included in the node activation command to provide a coverage or capacity.
At act S502, an underlying network site (e.g. a macro eNB) evaluates the capacity or coverage in the service area of a macro eNB according to the number of affiliated connected terminals in the service area or the signal intensity and the positions of the terminals and determines a position range where capacity enhancement or coverage expansion is needed.
At act S504, the underlying network site (e.g. a macro eNB) sends a network information inquiry request message to one or more moving network nodes (e.g. vehicle-mounted sites 1 and 2) located in the service area of the macro eNB.
In an exemplary embodiment, the network information inquiry request message may refer to a search request sent by the underlying network site to acquire the network attribute information of a moving network node. The search request may include, but is not limited to be, at least one of:
(1) the position information of the moving network node;
(2) the tolerable residing time of the moving network node;
(3) the coverage range of the moving network node; and
(4) the wireless access information of the moving network node.
The position information of a moving network node may refer to information, for example, longitude and latitude information, which indicates a position where the moving network node currently resides.
The tolerable residing time of the moving network node indicates the time elapsing from the moment the moving network node receives an inquiry request from the underlying network site to the moment the moving network node leaves the current position.
The coverage range of a moving network node may refer to the maximum coverage distance the moving network node can provide when working at the current position and a specific transmitting power of the moving network node.
The wireless access information of the moving network node may refer to the type of an access network the moving network node can provide, for example, GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A and WLAN.
At act S506, after receiving the network information inquiry request message from the macro eNB, the vehicle-mounted sites 1 and 2 send the position information, tolerable residing time, coverage range and wireless access information of the vehicle-mounted sites 1 and 2 to the macro eNB.
At act S508, the macro eNB may selectively activate the vehicle-mounted site 1 according to the information reported by the vehicle-mounted sites 1 and 2, the position range in which capacity enhancement or coverage expansion is needed according to the estimation of S502 and the type of the network. Certainly, a plurality of vehicle-mounted sites may be activated at the same time.
At act S510, the macro eNB sends a node activation command message to the vehicle-mounted site 1, and the vehicle-mounted site 1 runs at the transmitting power included in the node activation command to provide coverage or a capacity enhancement.
The node activation command message may include, but is not limited to be: the operational parameter information of a moving network node, for example, the transmitting power, the running time and the movement area of a moving network node, where the running time indicates how long a moving network node is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message from the underlying network site. The movement area is a position area in which the moving network node to be activated is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message. If the current position of the moving network node is not in the movement area, then the moving network node needs to notify the underlying network site of this situation.
At act S602, because it is needed to enhance the coverage or capacity in a service area, an underlying network site (e.g. a macro eNB) selects a moving network node (e.g. a vehicle-mounted site 1) to be activated and sends a node activation command.
The node activation command message may include, but is not limited to be: the operational parameter information of a moving network node, for example, the transmitting power, the running time and the movement area of a moving network node, where the running time indicates how long a moving network node is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command from the underlying network site. The movement area is a position area in which the moving network node to be activated is expected to run normally after receiving the node activation command message. If the current position of the moving network node is not in the movement area, then the moving network node needs to notify the underlying network site.
At act S604, a moving network node (e.g. a vehicle-mounted site 1) provides capacity or coverage enhancement in the service area of the underlying network site. Because the mobility of the vehicle-mounted site 1 is non-periodic, when the vehicle-mounted site 1 moves out of the movement area, the vehicle-mounted site 1 sends a position change notification message to the macro eNB. The position change notification message is used to indicate that the changed position of the vehicle-mounted site 1 is outside of the movement area.
Optionally, the macro eNB sends an acknowledgement message (the dotted line shown in
At act S606, the macro eNB sends a network information inquiry request to one or more moving network nodes (e.g. vehicle-mounted sites 2 and 3) located in the service area of the macro eNB.
In an exemplary embodiment, the network information inquiry request message may refer to a search request sent by the underlying network site to acquire the network attribute information of a moving network node. The search request may include, but is not limited to be, at least one of:
(1) the position information of a moving network node;
(2) the tolerable residing time of the moving network node;
The coverage range of a moving network node may refer to the maximum coverage distance the moving network node can provide when working at a current position and a specific transmitting power of the moving network node.
The wireless access information of the moving network node may refer to the type of an access network the moving network node can provide, for example, GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A and WLAN.
At act S608, after receiving the network information inquiry request message from the macro eNB, the vehicle-mounted sites 2 and 3 send the position information, tolerable residing time, coverage range and wireless access information of the vehicle-mounted sites 2 and 3 to the macro eNB.
At act S610, the macro eNB may select the vehicle-mounted site 2 and/or the vehicle-mounted site 3 as service provider according to the service area provided by the vehicle-mounted site 1, and send a node activation command message to the vehicle-mounted site 2 and/or the vehicle-mounted site 3.
At act S612, after receiving the node activation command message sent from the macro eNB, the vehicle-mounted site 2 and/or the vehicle-mounted site 3 performs/perform a corresponding operation according to the instruction included in the node activation command message.
At act S702, an underlying network site, that is, a macro eNB, evaluates the capacity or coverage in the service area of the macro eNB according to the connection establishment information of affiliated terminals, for example, the number of the terminals connected with the underlying network site, or the number of the services requested by the terminals, and determines a position range where capacity enhancement or coverage expansion is needed.
At act S704, the macro eNB determines, according to the network node selection information of previously stored moving network nodes (e.g. vehicle-mounted sites 1 and 2), whether or not moving network nodes meet the current requirement on capacity or coverage enhancement;
In the exemplary embodiment, the network node selection information may include, but is not limited to be, at least one of:
(1) the node identification information of a moving network node;
(2) the position information of the moving network node;
(3) the tolerable residing time of the moving network node;
(4) the coverage range of the moving network node; and
(5) the wireless access information of the moving network node.
The node identification information of the moving network node may refer to the identifier of the moving network node (e.g. a vehicle-mounted site), for example, a NodeB ID1.
The coverage range of a moving network node may refer to the maximum coverage distance the moving network node can provide when working at a current position and a maximum transmitting power of the moving network node.
The wireless access information of the moving network node may refer to the type of an access network the moving network node can provide, for example, GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A and WLAN.
At act S706, the macro eNB determines whether or not the position of a moving network node is changed according to the time the moving network node stays at the current position, sends a node activation command to the moving network node if the position of the moving network node is not changed, or sends a position information inquiry message to the moving network node if the position of the moving network node is changed. The moving network node refers here to the vehicle-mounted site 1 and/or the vehicle-mounted site 2 in the service area.
At act S708, the vehicle-mounted site 1 and/or the vehicle-mounted site 2 receive/receives the position information inquiry message from the macro eNB and report/reports a position information response message to the macro eNB. The position information response message may include, but is not limited to be: the position information of the moving network node and the residing time of the moving network node.
At act S710, the macro eNB may determine a vehicle-mounted site capable of providing coverage or capacity enhancement according to the position information response message of the vehicle-mounted site 1 and/or that of the vehicle-mounted site 2, it is assumed here that the vehicle-mounted site 1 meets the foregoing condition.
At act S712, the macro eNB sends a node activation command message to the vehicle-mounted site 1 to activate the vehicle-mounted site 1, and then the vehicle-mounted site 1 starts running.

In an exemplary implementation process, the one or more moving network nodes may be network sites changeable in position.
In an exemplary embodiment, the acquisition module 10 may be arranged to acquire the network node selection information of the one or more moving network nodes in one of the following two ways.
In a first way, the acquisition module is arranged to receive the network node selection information reported by one or more moving network nodes when the one or more moving network nodes are powered on.
