Claims
- 1. A phosphoric acid ester compound according to the structure:
- 2. The compound according to claim 1 where R1 is a C12-C22 hydrocarbon group, R2 is H and X is Na2B4O7.
- 3. The compound according to claim 2 wherein R1 is a C16H34 alkyl group.
- 4. A compound comprising the reaction product of a phosphoric acid ester compound of the formula:
- 5. The compound according to claim 4 wherein said neutralizing agent is selected from the group consisting of Na2HPO4, K2HPO4, Na3PO4, K3PO4 , NaHCO3, KHCO3, Na2CO3, K2CO3, sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate, sodium tetraborate decahydrate and mixtures thereof.
- 6. The compound according to claim 4 where R1 is a C12-C22 hydrocarbon group, R2 is H and said neutralizing agent is an active boron salt.
- 7. The compound according to claim 6 wherein R1 is a C16H34 alkyl group.
- 8. The compound according to claim 7 wherein said neutralizing agent is sodium tetraborate decahydrate.
- 9. The compound according to claim 6 wherein said active boron salt is selected from group consisting of sodium tetraborate decahydrate and sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate.
- 10. The compound according to claim 9 wherein R1 is a C16-C34 alkyl group.
- 11. The compound according to claim 5 wherein said neutralizing agent is selected from the group consisting of Na2HPO4, K2HPO4, Na3PO4, K3PO4, NaHCO3, KHCO3, Na2CO3, K2CO3 and mixtures, thereof.
- 12. A compound comprising the reaction product of a phosphoric acid ester compound according to the formula:
- 13. The compound according to claim 12 where R1 is a C12-C22 hydrocarbon group and R2 is H.
- 14. The compound according to claim 13 wherein R1 is a C16H34 alkyl group.
- 15. The compound according to claim 14 wherein said neutralizing agent is sodium tetraborate decahydrate.
- 16. The compound according to claim 12 wherein said neutralizing compound is selected from group consisting of sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate, sodium tetraborate decahydrate and mixtures thereof.
- 17. The compound according to claim 16 wherein R1 is a C16-C34 alkyl group.
- 18. The compound according to claim 12 wherein said neutralizing agent is selected from the group consisting of Na2HPO4, K2HPO4, Na3PO4, K3PO4, NaHCO3, KHCO3, Na2CO3, K2CO3 and mixtures, thereof.
- 19. The compound according to claim 18 wherein R1 is a C16-C34 alkyl group.
- 20. A composition comprising: an oil phase and a water phase, said oil phase comprising about 10% to about 90% by weight of said composition and said water phase comprising about 10% to about 90% by weight of said composition, said oil phase comprising about 70% to about 99.75% by weight of an oil and about 0.25% to about 30% by weight of a phosphoric acid ester compound according to the structure:
- 21. The composition according to claim 20 wherein X is Na2B4O7.
- 22. The composition according to claim 21 where R1 is a C12-C22 hydrocarbon group and R2 is H.
- 23. The composition according to claim 22 wherein R1 is a C16H34 alkyl group.
- 24. An emulsion composition comprising:
1) about 0.5% to about 15% by weight of the reaction product of a phosphoric acid ester compound of the formula: 19Where R1 and R2 are H or a linear, cyclic or branch chained saturated or unsaturated C8-C40 hydrocarbon group, a —(R3—O)m—R4 group, a —R5—O—(R3—O)m—R4 group or a 20where R3 is a C2-C6 alkylene group or a mixture of ethylene and propylene groups, R4 is H or a linear, cyclic or branch chained saturated or unsaturated C8-C40 group, 21R5 is a C2-C18 alkylene group, R6 is a linear, cyclic or branch chained saturated or unsaturated C8-C40 hydrocarbon group and m is an integer from 0 to 150, R7 is H or a linear, cyclic or branch-chained saturated or unsaturated C1-C22 hydrocarbon group or a C1-C22 alcohol group and R8 is a C1-C22 linear, cylic or branched chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, with the proviso that when R1 is H, R2 cannot also be H and an effective amount of a neutralizing agent; 2) about 15% to about 89.5% by weight of an oil; 3) optionally, from 0.1% to about 20% by weight of a secondary emulsifier; and 4) about 10% to about 75% water.
- 25. The composition according to claim 24 wherein said R1 is a C16-C34 hydrocarbon group, R2 is H and said neutralizing agent is selected from the group consisting of sodium tetraborate decahydrate, sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate, Na2HPO4 K2HPO4 Na3PO4, K3PO4, NaHCO3, KHCO3, Na2CO3, K2CO3, and mixtures thereof.
- 26. The composition according to claim 24 wherein said neutralizing agent is sodium tetraborate decahydrate.
- 27. The composition according to claim 24 wherein R1 is a C16-C34 hydrocarbon and said neutralizing agent is an active boron salt.
- 29. A composition comprising: an emulsion, said emulsion being formed by mixing an oil phase and a water phase, said oil phase comprising about 10% to about 90% by weight of said composition and said water phase comprising about 10% to about 90% by weight of said composition, said oil phase comprising at least about 70% to about 99.75% by weight of an oil; and about 0.25% to about 30% by weight of a phosphoric acid ester compound of the formula:
- 30. The composition according to claim 29 wherein said neutralizing agent is selected from group consisting of sodium tetraborate decahydrate and sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate, and mixtures thereof.
- 31. The composition according to claim 30 where R1 is a C16-C34 alkyl group and R2 is H.
- 36. The composition according to claim 31 wherein said neutralizing agent is an active boron salt.
