Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula
- Ar--(CO--X).sub.p --Z
- a stereoisomer or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein p is 1 and Ar represents a radical of the formula ##STR38## wherein Y is NH, R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently H, halogen, CF.sub.3, hydroxyl, C.sub.1-2 alkoxy, C.sub.2-7 acyl, amino, amino substituted by one or two C.sub.1-6 alkyl groups, C.sub.2-7 acylamino, aminocarbonyl, or aminosulfone optionally substituted by one or two C.sub.1-6 alkyl groups, C.sub.1-6 alkylsulfone, or nitro;
- X is NH or O;
- Z represents a radical of the formula ##STR39## m is 1 or 2, n is 0 or 1, p is 1 and r is 0 or 1.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 wherein Ar is 2-chloro-5-methoxyanilin-4-yl.
- 3. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of anxiety, psychoses, depression, gastrointestinal motility disturbances or conditions responsive to 5-HT.sub.3 antagonist effect comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound as defined in claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
- 4. A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 3 wherein Ar is 2-chloro-5-methoxyanilin-4-yl.
