Claims
- 1. A cotinine compound represented by the formula: ##STR9## where M is an alkali metal cation, dissolved in an aprotic solvent, and wherein the solvent solution of the compound is produced by a process which comprises reacting cotinine with a non-nucleophilic alkali metal hydride or alkali metal amide in an aprotic solvent medium at a temperature in the range of -78.degree. C. to 85.degree. C.
- 2. A cotinine compound in accordance with claim 1 wherein M is lithium.
- 3. A cotinine compound in accordance with claim 1 wherein M is sodium.
- 4. A cotinine compound in accordance with claim 1 wherein M is potassium.
- 5. A cotinine compound in accordance with claim 1 wherein M is cesium.
