Claims
- 1. A N-substituted, N-polysubstituted piperidyl, .alpha.-(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.,.alpha.-substituted acetamide, represented by the structure ##STR29## wherein, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, alkylphenyl and alkyl-naphthyl each alkyl substituent being C.sub.1 -C.sub.12, and at least one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is t--C.sub.4 -C.sub.12 alkyl,
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, or, when together cyclized, represent C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl,
- R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, phenyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 aminoalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, and alkylphenyl having C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9, represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 aminoalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxyalkyl, and, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, and which in combination, R.sup.6 with R.sup.7, and R.sup.8 with R.sup.9, represent C.sub.5 -C.sub.14 cycloalkyl having at least four of the C atoms cyclized;
- R.sup.10 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, oxygen, hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl and C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl.
- 2. The 3,5-DHPIPA of claim 1 wherein,
- R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, R.sup.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl,
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, and together, when cyclized represent cyclohexyl, methylcyclohexyl, cycloheptyl;
- R.sup.5 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl; and,
- R.sup.10 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl.
- 3. The 3,5-DHPIPA of claim 2 wherein, at least one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is t-butyl, or t-amyl; and, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl.
- 4. A 3,5-DHPIPA of claim 3 selected from the group consisting of
- (1) N-methyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methyl propionamide;
- (2) Bis-{N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-N-[.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methyl ethanecarbonyl]}-1,6-hexanediamine;
- (3) N-methyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.,.alpha.-pentamethylene acetamide;
- (4) Bis-{N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-N-[.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methyl propanecarbonyl]}-1,6-hexanediamine;
- (5) Bis-{N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-N-[.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methyl butanecarbonyl]}-1,6-hexanediamine;
- (6) Bis-{N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-N-[.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-methyl propanecarbonyl]}-.alpha.-methyl-1,5-pentanediamine;
- (7) N-butyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methylbutanamide;
- (8) N-dodecyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.,.alpha.-pentamethylene acetamide;
- (9) N-ethyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methyloctanamide;
- (10) N-ethyl-N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methylbutanamide;
- (11) N-ethyl-N-(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methylbutanamide; and,
- (12) N-ethyl-N-(1-acetyl,2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)-.alpha.-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-.alpha.-methylbutanamide.
