Claims
- 1. An automatic washing apparatus for dry to dry laundering hanging garments comprising a sealed wash cabinet, comprising:
(a) an interior region; (b) an upper assembly housed above the interior region, the upper assembly comprising means for shaking the hanging garments in the wash cabinet and means for dispensing a wash liquor into the wash cabinet; (c) a lower assembly housed below the interior region comprising a moisture generator and a heater to respectively generate moisture and heat inside the wash cabinet; and (d) a door sealing the interior region of the wash cabinet.
- 2. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a means for substantially removing the wash liquor from the wash cabinet.
- 3. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the upper assembly further comprises means for adding ozone/UV.
- 4. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a storage tank attached to the wash cabinet.
- 5. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the wash liquor comprises a working fluid and at least one washing additive.
- 6. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 5, further comprising means for separating the working fluid from the at least one washing additive.
- 7. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 6, wherein the working fluid has a density greater than 1, is substantially non-reactive, substantially non-aqueous, substantially non-oleophilic, and substantially apolar.
- 8. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 6, wherein the separating means comprises a distillation apparatus for separating the working fluid from the at least one washing additive by distillation.
- 9. The automatic washing apparatus of claim 6, wherein the separating means comprises a filter.
- 10. An automatic washing machine apparatus, comprising:
(a) a sealed wash chamber; (b) a means for adding a wash liquor into the wash chamber, the wash liquor comprising a non-aqueous and non-oleophilic working fluid; and (c) a means for agitating a fabric load in the wash chamber to provide flexure to a fabric load.
- 11. The automatic washing machine apparatus of claim 10, wherein the working fluid has an oil solvency of less than or equal to 30 KB.
- 12. The automatic washing machine apparatus of claim 10, further comprising a means for reducing the pressure in the wash chamber to a pressure equal to or less than 1 atm.
- 13. An automatic washing machine apparatus, comprising:
(a) a sealed wash chamber; (b) a means for adding a wash liquor into the wash chamber, the wash liquor comprising a non-oleophilic working fluid; (c) a means for agitating a fabric load in the wash chamber to provide for flexure of the fabrics; (d) a means for reducing the pressure in the wash chamber to a pressure equal to or less than 1 atm; (e) a wash basket disposed in the wash chamber; (f) a particle trap disposed adjacent to the wash chamber; (g) a storage unit to store the working fluid; (h) a recirculating pump adapted to pump working fluid from the wash chamber to at least one of a filter, holding tank, separator, distiller, condenser, carbon bed, and heater.
- 14. The automatic washing machine of claim 13, wherein the means for agitating further includes a horizontal axis agitation means.
- 15. The automatic washing machine of claim 13, wherein the means for agitating further includes a vertical axis agitation means.
- 16. The automatic washing machine of claim 13, wherein the working fluid is non-reactive and non-aqueous.
- 17. The automatic washing machine of claim 13, wherein the working fluid has an oil solvency of less than or equal to 30 KB.
- 18. The automatic washing machine of claim 16, wherein the working fluid has an oil solvency of less than or equal to 30 KB.
