Claims
- 1. A 1-hydrocarbyloxy substituted hindered amine compound having the formula I or II, ##STR18## G.sub.1 and G.sub.2 are independently alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or G.sub.1 and G.sub.2 together are pentamethylene,
- T is --NR.sub.1 CO(CH.sub.2).sub.m --, --O(CH.sub.2).sub.y, --[OCH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)].sub.y --, --OCO(CH.sub.2).sub.m --, --NR.sub.1 COCONR.sub.1 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or --NR.sub.1 COCONR.sub.1 CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3l)-- where R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, m is 2 or 3, y is 2 to 10, and the hetero oxygen or nitrogen atom is attached to the piperidyl ring,
- X is --OH, --NHR.sub.2, --COOH, --NCO, or Si(OR.sub.1).sub.3 where R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, or ##STR19## E is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5 to 12 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkenyl of 5 to 12 carbon atoms or aralkyl of 7 to 15 carbon atoms, n is 2, and --T.sub.3 --G--T.sub.3 -- is --OCH.sub.2 CHOHCH.sub.2 O--.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 which has formula I.
- 3. A compound according to claim 1 where G.sub.1 and G.sub.2 are each methyl.
- 4. A compound according to claim 1 wherein E is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 3 carbon atoms, or cyclohexyl.
- 5. A compound according to claim 4 wherein E is methyl, heptyl, octyl, nonyl or cyclohexyl.
- 6. A compound according to claim 1 wherein X is --OH.
- 7. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)succinamic acid.
- 8. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- N-butyl-N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)succinamic acid.
- 9. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- 3-(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yloxy)-1-propanol.
- 10. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)-N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)oxamide.
- 11. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- N-(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)succinamic acid.
- 12. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- mono-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)hydrogen succinate.
- 13. A compound according to claim 1 which is
- 1,3-bis(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yloxy)propan-2-ol.
