Claims
- 1. An integrated circuit structure, comprising:
- a substrate of semiconductor material;
- a plurality of MOS devices formed on said substrate;
- each individual one of said plurality of MOS devices including a source region, a drain region and a gate region, said source region and said drain region being separated by a channel over which said gate regions is formed;
- each individual source region including a source middle portion disposed between a pair of horizontally and vertically displaced source end portions;
- each individual drain region including a drain middle portion disposed between a pair of horizontally and vertically displaced drain end portions;
- each individual gate region including a gate middle portion disposed between a pair of horizontally and vertically displaced gate end portions;
- each individual gate middle portion having a longitudinal axis oriented along the length of the gate middle portion;
- each individual gate end portion having another longitudinal axis oriented along the length of the gate end portion; and
- said another longitudinal axis being oriented at an acute angle to said longitudinal axis to provide a bent gate configuration for each individual MOS device.
- 2. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 1, wherein said substrate is of a differing type of conductivity material from said source and drain regions.
- 3. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 1, wherein each individual one of said source regions define conductivity regions; and
- wherein each individual one of said drain regions define other conductivity regions.
- 4. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 3, wherein the individual ones of the of conductivity regions, and the individual ones of the other conductivity regions are substantially similar in configuration.
- 5. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 3, further comprising a plurality of electrical contact regions in the individual source regions and the individual drain regions.
- 6. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 5, further comprising a plurality of substrate taps for providing said substrate with access to a source of electrical power.
- 7. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 6, wherein individual ones of said plurality of substrate taps and individual ones of said plurality of electrical contract regions are arranged in a corresponding in-line configuration to facilitate in-line power connections.
- 8. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 1, wherein the individual ones of the gate middle portions have a narrower cross-sectional area than the gate end portions.
- 9. An integrated circuit structure according to claim 1, wherein the structure defines an MOS bent gate array.
- 10. An integrated circuit according to claim 1, wherein the formed acute angles are each about 45 degrees.
