FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a shopping bag made of a non-woven material.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a shopping bag comprising a non-woven material. It is an object of the present invention for the bag to comprise at least one pocket on each edge of the bag. It is an object of the present invention for the bag to be approximately 12″×7″×17″. It is an object of the present invention for the pockets to be approximately 7″×2″×14″. It is an object of the present invention for the pockets to isolate items from the bulk contents of the bag. It is an object of the present invention for the pockets to hold items such as prescriptions, bottles, eggs, cell phone, etc.

It is an object of the present invention for the pockets to be expandable. It is an object of the present invention for the pockets to have pleats or gussets on each edge. It is an object of the present invention that the pocket be expandable by approximately 2″. It is an object of the present invention that large objects such as water bottles fit in the pockets.

It is an object of the present invention for each pocket to have a security flap. It is an object of the present invention for the security flap to close the top of the pocket securely. It is an object of the present invention for the security flap to comprise Velcro. It is an object of the present invention for the security flap to have a snap closure. It is an object of the present invention for the pocket to close so that nothing can fall out and no one can access the contents of the pocket without pulling the flap open first. It is an object of the present invention for the flap to be attached to the body of the bag on each edge. It is an object of the present invention for the flap to extend outward over the top of each pocket and then down approximately 1½″ so that the securing components can secure. In the case of Velcro, for the Velcro components to meet and interlock.

It is an object of the present invention for the bag to comprise extra long handles, which extend approximately 9″ above the top of the bag. It is an object of the present invention for the handles to be long enough to easily be placed over a person's shoulder in addition to being carried over the arm or down at a person's side.

It is an object of the present invention for the bag to be sewn and made out of heavy duty, non-woven material, or any comparable substrate. It is an object of the present invention for the bag to comprise a heavy duty plastic, or cardboard insert placed at the bottom of the bag. It is an object of the present invention for the insert to add extra strength to the bag and provide a non sagging appearance.

It is an object of the present invention for the bag to comprise a soft loop at the top for display purposes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a shopping bag comprising a non-woven material. The bag comprises two pockets on each edge of the bag. In a preferred embodiment, the bag is approximately 12″×7″×17″. In a preferred embodiment, the pockets are approximately 7″×2″×14″. The pockets isolate items from the bulk contents of the bag. In an embodiment, the pockets hold items such as prescriptions, bottles, eggs, cell phone, etc.

In an embodiment, the pockets are expandable. In an embodiment, the pockets have pleats or gussets on each edge. In a preferred embodiment, the pockets are expandable by approximately 2″. In an embodiment, large objects such as water bottles fit in the pockets.

In an embodiment, each pocket has a security flap. In an embodiment, the security flap closes the top of the pocket securely. In a preferred embodiment, the security flap comprises Velcro. In an embodiment, the security flap has a snap closure. In an embodiment, the pocket closes so that nothing can fall out and no one can access the contents of the pocket without pulling the flap open first. In an embodiment, the flap is attached to the body of the bag on each edge. In an embodiment the flap extends outward over the top of each pocket and then down approximately 1½″ so that the components of the pocket are secure. In the case of Velcro, the distance allows the Velcro components to meet and interlock.

In an embodiment, the bag comprises extra long handles, which extend approximately 9″ above the top of the bag. In an embodiment, the handles are long enough to easily be placed over a person's shoulder in addition to being carried over the arm or down at a person's side.

In an embodiment, the bag is sewn and made out of heavy duty, non-woven material, or any comparable substrate. In an embodiment, the bag comprises a heavy duty plastic, or cardboard insert placed at the bottom of the bag. The insert adds extra strength to the bag and provides a non sagging appearance.

In an embodiment the bag to comprises a soft loop at the top of the bag for display purposes.

FIG. 1 shows a non-woven bag 10. The bag can be expandable by a pleat or gusset 16, the bag 10 has pockets 12 and 14 which can open and close. The bag 10 has handles 18 and 20 and the bag 10 has a closure mechanism 22 which in a preferred embodiment is Velcro.

FIG. 2 shows a non-woven bag 40. The bag can be expandable by a pleat or gusset 42, the bag 40 has pockets 48 and 50 which can open and close. The bag 40 has handles 44 and 46 and the bag 40 has flaps 52 and 54 for closing the pockets and closure mechanisms 56 and 58 which in a preferred embodiment is Velcro. The pockets may have pleats or gussets 62 and 64 so that the pockets can expand. The bag 40 has a soft loop 60 which can be used to hang the bag for display purposes.

FIG. 3 shows a non-woven bag 80. The bag can be expandable by a pleat or gusset 82 and have pockets 84 and 86 which can open and close. The bag 80 has handles 88 and 90 and flaps 96 and 98 for closing the pockets and closure mechanisms 92 and 94 which in a preferred embodiment is Velcro. The pockets may have pleats or gussets 100 and 102 so that the pockets can expand.

Claims

1. A shopping bag comprising: a non-woven material;at least one pocket on each edge of said bag.

2. The bag of claim 1 wherein said bag is approximately 12″×7″×17″.

3. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pockets are approximately 7″×2″×14″.

4. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pockets isolate items from bulk contents of said bag.

5. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pockets hold items such as prescriptions, bottles, eggs, and cell phone.

6. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pockets are expandable.

7. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pockets have pleats or gussets on each edge.

8. The bag of claim 1 wherein said pocket is expandable by approximately 2″.

9. The bag of claim 1 wherein large objects such as water bottles fit into said pockets.

10. The bag of claim 1 wherein each of said pockets has a security flap.
