Claims
- 1. An oxime of the formula Ia ##STR22## wherein X is difluoromethyl, trifluoromethyl of pentafluoroethyl;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 halogenalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 halogenoalkoxy or nitro;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- Q is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl substituted by one of cyano, cyanophenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -cyanoalkoxycarbonyl.
- 2. An oxime ether according to claim 1 of the formula IB ##STR23## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 have the meaning given in claim 1.
- 3. 1-Phenyl-1-cyanomethoximino-2,2,2-trifluoroethane according to claim 1.
- 4. 1-(4-Chlorophenyl)-1-cyanomethoximino-2,2,2-trifluoroethane according to claim 1.
- 5. 1-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1-cyanomethoximino-2,2,2-trifluoroethane according to claim 1.
- 6. 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)-1-cyanomethoximino-2,2,2-trifluorethane according to claim 1.
- 7. A composition for protecting cultivated plants from damage caused by haloacetanilide herbicides, which contains an antidotally effective non phytotoxic amount of an oxime ether of claim 1, together with an inert carrier.
- 8. A composition according to claim 7, which contains
- a) an effective amount of a herbicidal haloacetanilide and
- b) a non phytotoxic amount of an oxime ether of claim 1 as antidote, together with a suitable carrier.
- 9. A composition which contains as active components, a herbicidally effective amount of
- (a) a haloacetanilide herbicide of the formula ##STR24## wherein Hal is chlorine or bromine, each of R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 independently of the other is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl, Z is hydrogen or methyl, A is methylene, 1,1-ethylene or 1,2-ethylene which may be substituted by 1 or 2 lower alkyl groups, and R.sub.6 is lower alkoxy, hydroxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, N-alkylcarbamoyl, N,N-dialkylcarbamoyl, cyano, alkanoyl and
- (b) an antidotally effective amount of an oxime ether of claim 1 as antidote, together with a suitable carrier.
- 10. A method of protecting cultivated plants from damage that may be caused by herbicidal haloacetanilide compounds, which method comprises treating the seeds, seedlings or locus of the plant with a safening amount of an oxime ether of claim 1.
