Claims
- 1. A diamine platinum (II) complex represented by the general formula ##STR13## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group.
- 2. A diamine platinum (II) complex according to claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each a hydrogen atom.
- 3. A diamine platinum (II) complex according to claim 1 wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each a hydrogen atom.
- 4. A diamine platinum (II) complex according to claim 1 wherein at least one of R.sub.1, r.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is a lower alkyl group.
- 5. A process for producing a diamine platinum (II) complex represented by the general formula ##STR14## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; and Hal is a halogen atom,
- which comprises reacting a diamine represented by the general formula ##STR15## (wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have the same definitions as given previously, respectively) with
- M.sub.2 Pt(Hal).sub.4
- (wherein M is an atom capable of becoming a monovalent cation and Hal is a halogen atom) by adding an aqueous M.sub.2 Pt(Hal).sub.4 solution and an aqueous diamine solution gradually to distilled water separately at the same time.
- 6. A process according to claim 5 wherein the reaction is carried out at 0.degree. to 100.degree. C. and the diamine is used in an amount 0.5 to 4 moles per 1 mole of M.sub.2 Pt(Hal).sub.4.
- 7. A process according to claim 5 or 6 wherein at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is a lower alkyl group.
- 8. A process according to claim 5 or 6 wherein Hal is Cl, Br or I.
- 9. A process according to claim 5 or 6 wherein M is Na, K or Cs.
