Claims
- 1. As an article of manufacture, a substrate selected from the group consisting of wood, paper, metal and textiles, coated with a resinous solution comprising the reaction product of (a) about 65-80 moles of formaldehyde, (b) about 20-30 moles of urea, and (c) about 15-25 moles of phosphoric acid, said solution being formed by initial mixing of said formaldehyde and said urea followed by the addition of said phosphoric acid, whereby upon addition of said phosphoric acid, an exothermic reaction occurs leading to a substantially immediate and complete exothermic reaction to form a viscous, syrupy, water-white, aqueous resinous solution, the solution being a stable solution having a good shelf life and forming flexible, waterproof and non-burning films.
- 2. An article according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is wood.
- 3. An article according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is paper.
- 4. An article according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is metal.
- 5. An article according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is textiles.
