Claims
- 1. Nuclear fuel pellets consisting of sintered grains including nuclear fuel substances, said nuclear fuel pellets having a deposition phase of high-thermal conductivity substances deposited continuously in the grain boundaries of sintered grains, wherein said nuclear fuel pellets are prepared by mixing powders of said nuclear fuel substances and said high-thermal conductivity substances and sintering said powders at a temperature higher than the temperature at which a part of the powder of high-thermal conductivity substances forms a liquid phase.
- 2. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium oxide.
- 3. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium oxide and titanium oxide.
- 4. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium oxide and gadolinium oxide.
- 5. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium oxide and silicon oxide.
- 6. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium oxide and aluminum oxide.
- 7. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of said high-thermal conductivity substance consists of beryllium, oxide, titanium oxide and gadolinium oxide.
- 8. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said deposition phase of high-thermal conductivity substances is continuously deposited in at least half of said grain boundaries.
- 9. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said sintering temperature is about 1700.degree. C.
- 10. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 1, wherein said sintering temperature is about 1900-2100.degree. C.
- 11. Nuclear fuel pellets consisting of sintered grains including nuclear fuel substances, said nuclear fuel pellets having a deposition phase of high-thermal conductivity substances deposited continuously in the grain boundaries of sintered grains, wherein said nuclear fuel pellets are prepared by mixing powders of said nuclear fuel substances and said high-thermal conductivity substances and sintering said powders at a temperature higher than the temperature at which a part of the powder of high-thermal conductivity substances forms a liquid phase, wherein said deposition phase of high-thermal conductivity substances consists of beryllium oxide alone or a member of beryllium oxide and at least one member selected from the group consisting of titanium, gadolinium, calcium, barium, magnesium, strontium, lanthanum, yttrium, yetterbium, silicon, aluminum, samarium, tungsten, zirconium, lithium, molybdenum, uranium, thorium, oxides thereof and mixtures thereof.
- 12. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 2, wherein said deposition phase of high-thermal conductivity substances is continuously deposited in at least half of said grain boundaries.
- 13. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 2, wherein said sintering temperature is about 1,700.degree. C.
- 14. The nuclear fuel pellets of claim 2, wherein said sintering temperature is about 1,900-2,100.degree. C.
