- 21. An isolated polypeptide capable of inducing an immune response against Chlamydia, said polypeptide having, a length of at least 12 amino acids and possessing at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 22. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide possessing at least 80% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 23. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide possessing at least 90% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 24. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide possessing at least 95% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO. 3.
- 25. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide possessing at least 97% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 26. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide possessing at least 99% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 27. The polypeptide according to claim 21 wherein said polypeptide possesses 100% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 28. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide having a length of at least 20 amino acids.
- 29. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide having a length of at least 50 amino acids.
- 30. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide having a length of at least 100 amino acids.
- 31. The polypeptide according to claim 21, said polypeptide comprising SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 32. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a polynucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide according to claim 21, or the complementary polynucleotide sequence thereto.
- 33. The nucleic acid molecule according to claim 32, wherein said polynucleotide sequence hybridizes under stringent conditions with the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2, or the complementary polynucleotide sequence thereto.
- 34. The nucleic acid molecule according to claim 32, wherein said polynucleotide sequence is the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2, or the complementary polynucleotide sequence thereto.
- 35. An expression cassette comprising a nucleic acid molecule according to claim 32, placed under the control of elements required for expression of the nucleic acid molecule.
- 36. An expression vector comprising the expression cassette according to claim 35.
- 37. A vaccine vector comprising the nucleic acid molecule according to claim 32 placed under the control of elements required for expression.
- 38. The vaccine vector according to claim 37, wherein the elements required for expression include a promoter.
- 39. The vaccine vector according to claim 38, wherein said promoter is a cytomegalovirus promoter.
- 40. The vaccine vector of claim 37, which is a plasmid vector.
- 41. The vaccine vector according to claim 40, wherein said plasmid vector has the identifying characteristics of plasmid pCAI115, as shown in FIG. 3.
- 42. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a polypeptide according to claim 21.
- 43. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a vaccine vector according to claim 37.
- 44. A method for inducing immune response against Chlamydia, comprising administering to a subject an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition according to claim 42.
- 45. A method for inducing an immune response against Chlamydia, comprising administering to a subject an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition according to claim 43.
- 46. An antibody that specifically binds to a polypeptide according to claim 21.
- 47. The antibody according to claim 46, wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
