Claims
- 1. A method of treating ocular hypertension which comprises administering to a mammal having ocular hypertension a therapeutically effective amount of a compound represented by formula I:
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the substituent on the heteroaryl radical is selected from the group consisting of C1 to C6 alkyl; OR4; CO2R4; halogen, trifluoromethyl; COR4; COCF3; SO2NR4, NO2; and CN.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein said compound is represented by formula II:
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein said compound is represented by formula III:
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein the dashed line represents a double bond.
- 6. The method of claim 4 wherein the dashed line represents a single bond.
- 7. The method of claim 5 wherein R is CO2R4 and R4 is H.
- 8. The method of claim 6 wherein R is CO2R4 and R4 is H.
- 9. The method of claim 5 wherein R is CO2R4 and R4 is methyl.
- 10. The method of claim 6 wherein R is CO2R4 and R4 is methyl.
- 11. The method of claim 4 wherein R is CO2R4.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein R4 is selected from the group consisting of H and lower alkyl.
- 13. The method of claim 4 wherein A is C and R5, R6 and R7 are H.
- 14. The method of claim 1 wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluoro and chloro radicals.
- 15. The method of claim 14 wherein X is hydrogen.
- 16. The method of claim 14 wherein X is fluoro.
- 17. The method of claim 14 wherein X is chloro.
- 18. The method of claim 1 wherein said compound is 7-{(1R,2R,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-[(E)-4-hydroxy-4-(1-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)methyl-cyclobutyl)but-1-enyl]-5-chloro-cyclopentyl}hept-5-enoic acid methyl ester.
- 19. The method of claim 1 wherein said compound is 7-{(1R,2R,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-[(E)-4-hydroxy-4-(1-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)methylcyclobutyl)but-1-enyl]-5-chlorocyclopentyl}hept-5-enoic acid.
- 20. The method of claim 1 wherein said compound is
(Z)-7-{(1R,2R,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-[(E)-4-hydroxy-4-(1-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)-methylcyclobutyl)but-1-enyl]-5-fluoro-cyclopentyl}hept-5-enoic acid methyl ester
- 21. The method of claim 1 wherein said compound is
(Z)-7-{(1R,2R,3R)-3-Hydroxy-2-[(E)-4-hydroxy-4-(1-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-methylcyclobutyl)but-1-enyl]-5-fluoro-cyclopentyl}hept-5-enoic acid.
- 22. An ophthalmic solution comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula I, as defined in claim 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in admixture with a non-toxic, ophthalmically acceptable liquid vehicle, packaged in a container suitable for metered application.
- 23. The ophthalmic solution of claim 22 wherein said compound is a compound of Formula III.
- 24. A pharmaceutical product, comprising a container adapted to dispense the contents of said container in metered form; and an ophthalmic solution in said container comprising a compound of formula I as defined in claim 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in admixture with a non-toxic, ophthalmically acceptable liquid vehicle.
- 25. The product of claim 24 wherein said compound is a compound of Formula III.
- 26. The compound represented by formula I:
- 27. The compound of claim 26 wherein R is CO2R4.
- 28. The compound of claim 27 wherein R4 is selected from the group consisting of H and lower alkyl.
- 29. The compound of claim 28 wherein said compound is represented by the formula
- 30. The compound of claim 29 wherein A is C and R5, R6 and R7 are H.
- 31. The compound of claim 30 wherein said compound is selected from the group consisting of:
