Claims
- 1. A bulk product fast cooking apparatus, comprising:
a bulk product hopper with a bulk product outlet arranged above a product cavity, having a variable volume, a means for isolation operable between the product hopper bulk product outlet and the product cavity, a means for moving bulk product from the product cavity to a pressurizable cooking chamber having an inlet valve and an outlet valve, the outlet valve coupled to a post cooker having an outlet valve.
- 2. The bulk product fast cooking apparatus of claim 1, further including:
a boiler having
a water inlet, and a water outlet interconnected with the cooking chamber.
- 3. The bulk product fast cooking apparatus of claim 2, further including:
a condenser interconnected with the cooking chamber and a drain, having a condenser coil therein, and the condenser coil interconnected between a water supply and the water inlet.
- 4. The bulk product fast cooking apparatus of claim 3, further including:
a pump connected between the condenser coil and the water inlet.
- 5. The bulk product fast cooking apparatus of claim 1, wherein said bulk product is pasta.
- 6. A pasta fast cooking apparatus for use in combination with pasta, comprising:
a bulk product hopper with a bulk product outlet arranged above a product cavity, having a variable volume, a means for isolation operable between the product hopper bulk product outlet and the product cavity, a means for moving pasta from the product cavity to an inlet valve of a a pressurizable cooking chamber having an outlet valve, the outlet valve coupled to a post cooker having an outlet valve, the pasta configured for loading into the product hopper and passage via the product cavity, and a means for moving to the cooking chamber.
- 7. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta has a length, along a longitudinal axis, of between 3.75 inches and 10 inches.
- 8. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta has a wall thickness of between 0.012 and 0.08 inches.
- 9. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta is tubular, with a bore diameter of between 0.01 and 0.4 inches.
- 10. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta is made from an edible grain.
- 11. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta is configured to permit cooking within a time period of between 30 seconds and four minutes.
- 12. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta is one of dry, semi-cooked and pre-cooked.
- 13. The fast cook pasta apparatus of claim 6, wherein:
the pasta has one of a flat, curved, cross, and geometric cross section.
- 14. A method for fast cooking pasta comprising the steps of:
(a) loading a hopper with pasta, (b) feeding the pasta by gravity from the hopper to a portion cavity, (c) isolating the portion cavity from the hopper, (d) transferring the pasta from the portion cavity to a pressurizable cooking chamber, (e) introducing a cook liquid into the cooking chamber, and (f) maintaining the cooking chamber at a pre-determined temperature for a cook period.
- 15. The method of claim 14, further including the step of:
adjusting a pasta portion size by changing the volume of the portion cavity.
- 16. The method of claim 14, wherein the cook period is between 30 seconds and 4 minutes.
- 17. The method of claim 14, further comprising the step of transferring the pasta to a post cooker via an outlet valve after the cooking period.
- 18. The method of claim 14 further comprising the steps of discharging the liquid from the cooking chamber, transferring the pasta to a post cooker via an outlet valve after the cooking period and repeating steps (a)-(f).
- 19. The method of claim 18 further comprising the step of transferring heat from the discharged liquid to the cook liquid prior to its introduction into the cooking chamber.
