Claims
- 1. A one component room temperature setting composition which comprises:
- (A) a vinyl polymer having on the polymer chain end or the side chain thereof at least one silyl group having a hydrolyzable group per one polymer molecule, the main chain of the vinyl polymer consisting essentially of a polymer of a vinyl compound,
- (B) 0.005 to 10 parts of a hardener,
- (C) 0 to 200 parts of a pigment, and
- (D) 0.1 to 100 parts of at least one member selected from the group consisting of an orthoformic acid ester of the general formula:
- HC(OR.sup.1).sub.3
- wherein R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 16 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, a halogenated alkyl group and a halogenated aryl group, and
- a .beta.-diketone compound of the general formula: ##STR8## wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 16 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, a halogenated alkyl group and a halogenated aryl group, said parts being parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the component (A).
- 2. The composition of claim 1, wherein the silyl group-containing vinyl polymer (A) contains 0.1 to 10% by weight of units of a vinyl compound as a comonomer having active hydrogen in the form of a group selected from the group consisting of carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, amino group and acid amido group.
- 3. The composition of claim 1, wherein the silyl group-containing vinyl polymer (A) has a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 10,000.
- 4. The composition of claim 1, wherein said hardener is an organic tin carboxylate.
- 5. The composition of claim 1, wherein said hardener is an organic tin mercaptide compound having Sn--S bond.
- 6. The composition of claim 1, wherein the silyl group-containing vinyl polymer (A) contains an alkoxysilyl group as a hydrolyzable silyl group.
- 7. The composition of claim 1, wherein said orthoformic acid ester is a member selected from the group consisting of methyl orthoformate and ethyl orthoformate.
- 8. The composition of claim 1, wherein said .beta.-diketone compound is acetylacetone.
- 9. The composition of claim 1, wherein said .beta.-diketone compound is combined with at least one member selected from the group consisting of (a) a hydrolyzable silicon compound of the general formula: ##STR9## wherein R.sup.2 is an organic group bonding to the silicon atom through a carbon atom, X.sup.1 is a hydrolyzable group selected from the group consisting of an alkoxyl group, an alkoxyalkoxyl group, phenoxy group, an acyloxyl group, a ketoxymate group, amino group, aminoxy group, an acid amido group and an alkenyloxy group, and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 3, and (b) a partial hydrolysis product of the hydrolyzable silicon compound.
