The present invention generally relates to the field of physical exercise apparel. More particularly, the present invention relates to apparel used during physical exercise, such as yoga, that permits movement without requiring the wearer of the apparel to adjust, pull up, or pull down articles of clothing, while retaining the comfort and appearance of traditional non-one-piece exercise apparel.
A common issue with traditional physical exercise apparel is that it slides around while the wearer performs exercise moves. For example, pants can slide down, exposing the wearer's midriff. Shirts can slide up, exposing the wearer's midriff. To account for this sliding, the wearer must make adjustments while trying to continue to exercise, which can be distracting and uncomfortable.
One-piece exercise apparel exists that limits sliding and movement. One-piece exercise apparel currently available, however, has the limitation of often being skin-tight or loose and baggy and/or has a tendency to pull in undesirable places such as between the legs. Existing one-piece garments usually also lack the added convenience and functionality of a built-in bra.
Therefore, a great need exists in the field for one-piece physical exercise apparel that functions without adjustment from the wearer, particularly in regard to pants sliding down and shirts sliding up, but that retains the look and comfort of traditional exercise apparel (in addition to the convenience of a one-piece design). A further need exists that this physical exercise apparel not include any clasps, zippers, or similar protrusions that would impede on the wearer's comfort level when performing various exercises, including floor exercises.
The present invention relates to a one-piece physical exercise garment with features that give the appearance of separate articles of clothing (torso piece, bra, and pant) common in traditional exercise apparel, but that is also capable of being worn through various movements while maintaining coverage of the wearer's midriff and preventing the need for clothing adjustments during exercise.
While some embodiments of the present invention are illustrated and pictured as an example, the present invention is not limited by the figures and images presented.
The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not meant to limit the invention.
Unless otherwise defined, all terms used herein have meanings as commonly understood by one having ordinary skill in the art to which this invention belongs. It will be further understood that terms, such as those defined in commonly used dictionaries, should be interpreted as having a meaning that is consistent with their meaning in the context of the relevant art and the present disclosure, and will not be interpreted in an idealized or overly formal sense unless expressly so defined herein.
The present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the invention, and is not intended to limit the invention to the specific embodiments illustrated by the figures or described below. Furthermore, due to the nature of the present invention, specific measurements are variable and any measurements identified herein therefore do not limit the invention.
One embodiment of the present invention will now be described by referencing the drawings.
The advantages of the present invention are numerous. Different implementations may yield one or more of the advantages described herein. One advantage of the present invention is that it stays in place during exercise or other movement without the need for adjustment by the wearer. Another advantage of the present invention is that it gives the appearance of separate garments and therefore could be more aesthetically appealing than the skin-tight or loose, baggy alternatives currently offered on the market. Another advantage is that the invention incorporates each piece of clothing traditionally required for a woman's exercise routine—a bra, torso piece, and pant.
Although construction of the present invention has been described herein with reference to preferred embodiments, it will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art that other constructions may perform similar functions and/or achieve similar results. While the present invention has been described herein with no need of zippers, clasps or other protrusions, it is apparent that these types of bindings could be added to the garment for appearance and/or functionality.
