- 5. The clutch assembly defined in claim 2, wherein the inner surfaces of said clutch members are substantially planar.
- 6. An overrunning clutch assembly comprising:
- a first clutch member rotatable about an axis and including an inner surface generally normal to the axis and an axially-extending peripheral rim portion, the rim portion of said first clutch member including an integrally-formed, radially-inwardly-opening groove that extends only circumferentially therein;
- a second clutch member rotatable about the axis including an inner surface disposed in a spaced opposing relation to the inner surface of said first clutch member, said second clutch member further including an outer surface generally opposite to the inner surface thereof;
- an arrangement for coupling said first clutch member with said second clutch member when said first clutch member rotates in a first direction relative to said second clutch member, the arrangement including
- a plurality of recesses formed in each of the inner surface of said first clutch member and the inner surface of said second clutch member, each of the recesses defining an abutment shoulder, and
- at least one strut, each strut having a first end for engagement with the abutment shoulders of said first clutch member and a second end opposite the first end for engagement with the abutment shoulders of said second clutch member, each strut including a radially-innermost portion; and
