Claims
- 1. An optical connector having a housing body and a fixed part disposed opposite each other on the front and back sides of a backplane and installed so as to hold said backplane therebetween, and connecting an optical connector plug inserted into said housing body via an installation hole in said backplane of another optical connector plug inserted into said housing body from the direction opposite to that of said optical connector plug, wherein:said fixed part provides a plug insertion hole into which said optical connector plug is inserted and flexible claws that are positioned on opposite sides of said plug insertion hole and engage by being inserted into said housing body; and further wherein: said flexible claws engage said housing body via said installation hole of said backplane, and thereby said housing body and said fixed part are installed so as to hold said backplane, and said plug insertion hole communicates with said installation hole and said housing body.
- 2. An optical connector according to claim 1 characterized in maintaining a clearance in the vicinity of said flexible claws inserted into said installation hole and allowing displacement of said flexible claws within said installation hole.
- 3. An optical connector according to claim 1, wherein a pair of second flexible claws integrally provided on said housing body pass through said installation hole and engage with said backplane on both sides of said installation hole, and said backplane is held between this pair of second flexible claws and bearing walls integrally provided on said housing body, and thereby said housing body is supported at a desired position on said backplane.
- 4. An optical connector according to claim 3, wherein said pair of second flexible claws project from an installation part mounted and anchored on the outside of said housing body, these second flexible claws pass through said installation hole and engage with the backplane on both sides of said installation hole, and said backplane is held between this pair of second flexible claws and bearing walls integrally provided on said installation part, and thereby said housing body is supported at a desired position on said backplane.
- 5. An optical connector according to claim 4, wherein said installation part provides:a plug insertion part into which said optical connector plug can be inserted; said bearing walls disposed on opposite sides of said plug insertion part, and a pair of third flexible claws that project from each of said bearing walls and engage the backplane on both sides of said installation hole by insertion into said installation hole; and wherein: said optical connector plugs that can be inserted into said housing body via said installation hole and said plug insertion part when said housing body is supported at a desired position in the backplane by said installation part installed in the backplane.
- 6. An optical connector according to claim 4, wherein said installation part is mounted on said housing body by a pair of flange parts that project from said installation part externally engaging said housing body.
