Claims
- 1. An optical data access system comprising:an optical flat data storage medium; a data access drive system for driving a single optical pickup head for performing a rotational movement over said flat data storage medium for accessing data over an arc segment on said optical flat data storage medium; a control means for controlling a data transfer between said data access drive system and said optical flat data storage medium; and an X-Y table controlled by said control means for engaging and moving said optical flat data storage medium according to servo information stored in said data-card.
- 2. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said optical flat data storage medium is a optical data card placed on and moved by said X-Y table.
- 3. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said single optical pickup head is provided for accessing data over substantially one-half of the rotational movement.
- 4. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said single optical pickup head is provided for accessing data over several arc-segments during said rotational movement over said optical flat data storage medium moved by said X-Y table.
- 5. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said single optical pickup head further includes a data signal transformer for transforming a data signal related to accessing data on said optical flat data storage medium by said single optical pickup head.
- 6. The optical data-access system of claim 5 further comprising:a head lifting mechanism for loading and unloading said single optical pickup head.
- 7. The optical data-access system of claim 5 further comprising:a switch mounted on said data access drive system for moving said single optical pickup head for accessing data at a user intended location on said optical flat data storage medium.
- 8. The optical data-access system of claim 5 wherein:said single optical pickup head further includes a optical-detecting means for detecting a optical signal stored in said data-card and converting said optical signal into an electrical signal.
- 9. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a system controller for controlling said X-Y table for generating a relative linear movement between said optical flat data storage medium and said single optical pickup head.
- 10. The optical data-access system of claim 9 wherein:said system controller applies servo data stored in said optical flat data storage medium for linearly moving said optical flat data storage medium.
- 11. The optical data-access system of claim 9 wherein:said data access drive system further includes a motor for rotating said single optical pickup head; and said X-Y table is further engaged to a stepping motor for linearly moving said optical flat data storage medium.
- 12. The optical data-access system of claim 11 wherein:said stepping motor further includes a step motor engaging a lead screw.
- 13. The optical data-access system of claim 11 wherein:said stepping motor further includes and engaging to a band actuator.
- 14. The optical data-access system of claim 9 further comprising:a plurality of servo control data segments provided on said flat data storage medium for controlling said relative linear movement between said optical flat data storage medium and said single optical pickup head.
- 15. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a local dynamic random access memory (DRAM)/static random access memory (SRAM) to store data therein.
- 16. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a function control panel for performing operational functions of said optical data-access system.
- 17. The optical data-access system of claim 16 wherein:said functional control panel further includes switches for controlling functions of startup, shutdown, save, update, and data duplication.
- 18. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a storage medium duplication means for duplicating a second optical flat data storage medium from a first optical flat data storage medium.
- 19. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a connection terminal for connecting to another data-handling system.
- 20. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a power supply system for providing power.
- 21. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a containing box for housing and containing said data-access system therein; and said containing box further includes a flat medium location means for guiding and fixing a location of said optical flat storage medium in said containing box.
- 22. The optical data-access system of claim 21 wherein:said stepping motor further includes and engaging to a rack-pinion.
- 23. The optical data-access system of claim 1 further comprising:a graphic user interface means for providing a user interface.
- 24. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said X-Y table further includes a voice coil motor.
- 25. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said X-Y table further includes a direct current (DC) motor.
- 26. The optical data-access system of claim 1 wherein:said X-Y table further includes an alternating current (AC) motor.
- 27. An optical data-access system comprising:an optical flat data storage medium; a data access drive system for driving a data access means for performing a rotational movement over said flat data storage medium for accessing data over an arc segment on said optical flat data storage medium; a control means for controlling a data transfer between said data access drive system and said optical flat data storage medium; said data access means includes an optical pickup head; a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel mounted on said data access drive system for displaying a location of said pickup head.
