Claims
- 1. An optical data-card drive system comprising:
an optical pickup head for rotationally moving over and accessing data stored in said optical data-card.
- 2. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for reading data from and writing data to said optical data card.
- 3. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for accessing data over substantially one-half of the rotational movement.
- 4. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for accessing data over several arc-segments during said rotational movement.
- 5. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for rotating in a single rotational direction.
- 6. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for rotating in clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
- 7. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for rotating over arc segment having radius smaller than half-width of said optical data card.
- 8. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for rotating over an arc segment having a radius greater than half-width of said optical data card.
- 9. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided as a removable and replaceable module.
- 10. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for accessing data by contacting said optical data card.
- 11. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head is provided for accessing data by rotating at a distance above said optical data card.
- 12. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 further includes:
a motor including a rotating shaft for mounting and rotating said optical pickup head.
- 13. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head further includes a data signal transformer for transforming signals through induced changes of magnetic flux in said data card.
- 14. The optical data-card drive system of claim 13 wherein:
said data signal transformer further includes a pickup transformer core rotating with and connected to said optical pickup head; and said data signal transformer further includes a receiver transformer core disposed near said pickup transformer core for receiving said signal induced changes of magnetic flux in said data card and mechanically decoupled from said pickup transformer core.
- 15. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 further includes:
a second optical pickup head for rotationally moving over and accessing data stored on a second surface of said optical data-card.
- 16. The optical data-card drive of claim 1 further includes:
a linear movement means for engaging and linearly moving said optical data-card.
- 17. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 further includes:
a linear movement means for engaging and linearly moving said pickup head.
- 18. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 further includes:
a linear movement means for generating a relative linearly movement between said optical data-card and said optical pickup head.
- 19. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes a step motor engaging a lead screw.
- 20. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes a step motor engaging a band actuator.
- 21. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes a step motor engaging a rack-pinion.
- 22. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes a voice coil motor.
- 23. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes a DC motor.
- 24. The optical data-card drive system of claim 18 wherein:
said linear movement means includes an AC motor.
- 25. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head further includes at least a second optical pickup head for rotationally moving over and accessing data stored in said optical data card.
- 26. The optical data-card drive system of claim 1 wherein:
said optical pickup head further includes a photo-detecting means for detecting an optical signal stored in said data-card and converting said optical signal into an electrical signal.
- 27. The optical data-card drives system of claim 26. further comprising:
a data signal transformer for transforming said electrical signal received from said photo-detecting means.
- 28. The optical data-card drive system of claim 27 wherein:
said data signal transformer further includes a pickup transformer core rotating with and connected to said optical pickup head; and said data signal transformer further includes a receiver transformer core disposed near said pickup transformer core and mechanically decoupled from said pickup transformer core for receiving said signal incluced changes of magnetic flux resulting from said electric signal received from said photo-detecting means.
- 29. The optical data-card drive system of claim 28 wherein:
said optical pickup head further includes an optical writing means for writing an optical data in said data-card.
- 30. The optical data-card drive system of claim 28 wherein:
said optical pickup head further rotationally moves in reciprocal directions over and accessing data stored in said optical data card.
