Abstract
An optical disc drive includes a memory stored a write strategy, a converting unit which converts a recording data into a recording pulse based on the write strategy stored in the memory, an inspection unit which inspects a state of the recording data from a reproducing signal, a recording controller which executes a recording operation to record the recording data by applying a laser beam corresponding to the recording pulse to an optical disc, suspends the recording operation, judges whether correction of the write strategy according to an inspection result of the inspection unit is necessary, and restarts the recording operation after the write strategy saved in the memory is collected, and a correction unit which corrects the write strategy saved in the memory when the correction of the write strategy according to an inspection result of the inspection unit is necessary.

Claims
  • 1. An optical disc drive comprising: a memory stored a write strategy;a converting unit which converts a recording data into a recording pulse based on the write strategy stored in the memory;an inspection unit which inspects a state of the recording data from a reproducing signal;a recording controller which executes a recording operation to record the recording data by applying a laser beam corresponding to the recording pulse to an optical disc, suspends the recording operation, judges whether correction of the write strategy according to an inspection result of the inspection unit is necessary, and restarts the recording operation after the write strategy saved in the memory is collected; anda correction unit which corrects the write strategy saved in the memory when the correction of the write strategy according to an inspection result of the inspection unit is necessary.
  • 2. The optical disc drive according to claim 1, wherein the correction unit corrects at least one of timing to start the recording pulse and timing to stop the recording pulse.
  • 3. The optical disc drive according to claim 1, further comprising: a scale calculator to calculate a scale of correction amount obtained by the correction unit; andwherein the recording controller restarts the recording operation when the calculated scale is within a predetermined value.
  • 4. The optical disc drive according to claim 1, further comprising: a characteristic calculation unit which calculates a recording power value characteristic from the reproducing signal before the recording controller executes judgment,wherein the recording controller judges whether the recording power characteristic calculated by the characteristic unit satisfies a predetermined condition, and judges for the necessary of the correction of the write strategy when the recording power value characteristic calculated by the second judgment unit satisfies the predetermined condition.
  • 5. The optical disc drive according to claim 4, wherein the power controller corrects a power value of the laser beam when the recording power value characteristic calculated by the second judgment unit does not satisfy the predetermined condition.
  • 6. An optical disc drive comprising: a detecting unit which detects a recording start address for recording a recording data on an optical disc;a recording condition saving unit storing a recording condition;detecting unit which detects a recording state from a reproducing signal;a recording controller which executes a recording operation for recording a part of the recording data at a first recording speed slower than a maximum recordable speed in a detected recording start address, judges whether the detected recording state satisfies a predetermined condition; anda correcting unit which corrects the recording condition saved in the recording condition saving unit, when the recording state does not satisfy the predetermined condition.
  • 7. The optical disc drive according to claim 6, wherein the recording condition is a recording power value.
  • 8. The optical disc drive according to claim 6, wherein the recording condition is a write strategy.
  • 9. The optical disc drive according to claim 6, wherein the recording controller executes a recording operation to record a part of the recording data at a second recording speed faster than the first recording speed, when the recording state satisfies the predetermined condition.
  • 10. A recording method comprising: converting recording data into a recording pulse based on a predetermined write strategy;executing a recording operation for recording the recording data by applying a laser beam corresponding to the recording pulse to an optical disc;suspending the recording operation;inspecting a state of the recording data from a reproducing signal at a location recorded just before the suspend of recording operation;judging whether to correct the predetermined write strategy, according to an inspection result;correcting the write strategy, when the judgment means determines correction of the write strategy; andrestarting the recording operation after the write strategy is corrected.
  • 11. The recording method according to claim 10, wherein the correction corrects at least one of timing to start the recording pulse and timing to stop the recording pulse.
  • 12. The recording method according to claim 10, further comprising: calculating a scale of the correction amount; andjudging whether the calculated scale is within a predetermined value,wherein the recording operation is restarted when the calculated scale is determined to be within a predetermined value.
  • 13. The recording method according to claim 10, further comprising: obtaining a recording power value characteristic from a reproducing signal at a location recorded just before the suspend of recording operation, before the judgment step executes judgment; andjudging whether the obtained recording power value characteristic satisfies a predetermined condition,wherein when the recording power value characteristic is determined satisfying the predetermined condition, the recording state is inspected.
  • 14. The recording method according to claim 13, further comprising a step of correcting a power value of the laser beam, when the recording power value characteristic is determined not satisfying the predetermined condition.
  • 15. A recording method comprising: detecting a recording start address for recording a recording data on an optical disc;executing a recording operation for recording a part of the recording data at a first recording speed slower than a maximum recordable speed and under a predetermined recording condition, at the detected recording start address;reproducing a part of a recording data recorded on the optical disc, and detecting a recording state from a reproducing signal;judging whether the detected recording state satisfies a predetermined condition;correcting the recording condition, when the recording state does not satisfy the predetermined condition; andrestarting the recording operation under the corrected recording condition.
  • 16. The recording method according to claim 15, wherein the recording condition is a recording power value.
  • 17. The recording method according to claim 15, wherein the recording condition is a write strategy.
  • 18. The recording method according to claim 15, wherein the restarting a recording operation is an operation for recording a part of the recording data, and the recording speed when restarting the recording operation is a second recording speed faster than the first recording speed.
