Claims
- 1. An optical glass with a refractive index .gtoreq.1.60, an Abbe number .gtoreq.58 and improved resistance to acids, phase separation and crystallization, consisting essentially of in % by weight:
- ______________________________________Component % by weight______________________________________SiO.sub.2 21.5-27.0B.sub.2 O.sub.3 23.5-30.0SrO 16.0-24.0La.sub.2 O.sub.3 10.0-20.5Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 1.5-5.0BaO 5.0-14.0ZrO.sub.2 0-4.0Li.sub.2 O 0.5-5.0Na.sub.2 O 0.8-2.5K.sub.2 O 0-2.0.SIGMA.Li.sub.2 O,Na.sub.2 O,K.sub.2 O 1.6-5.0F.sup.- .ltoreq.0.5Ratio of Li.sub.2 O to (Na.sub.2 O + K.sub.2 O) .gtoreq. 0.5.______________________________________
- 2. An optical glass according to claim 1, containing no F.sup.-.
- 3. An optical glass according to claim 1, containing 0.1 to 0.5 F.sup.- and at least 1% of Na.sub.2 O, K.sub.2 O or a mixture thereof.
- 4. A glass according to claim 1, further containing, in % by weight:
- ______________________________________ MgO 0-2 CaO 0-7 ZnO 0-4______________________________________
- at least one of MgO, CaO and ZnO being present in the glass.
- 5. A glass according to claim 1, further containing, in % by weight:
- ______________________________________ Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-5 WO.sub.3 0-3 Gd.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-3______________________________________
- at least one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, WO.sub.3 and Gd.sub.2 O.sub.3 being present in the glass.
- 6. A glass according to claim 4, further containing, in % by weight:
- ______________________________________ Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-5 WO.sub.3 0-3 Gd.sub.2 O.sub.3 0-3______________________________________
- at least one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, WO.sub.3 and Gd.sub.2 O.sub.3 being present in the glass.
- 7. A glass according to claim 1 having a refraction index of above 1.61 and an Abbe number above 59.
- 8. A glass according to claim 1 having no K.sub.2 O.
- 9. A glass according to claim 1 containing a smaller amount of K.sub.2 O than Na.sub.2 O.
- 10. A glass according to claim 1 containing 0.80-1.10% by weight of Na.sub.2 O and 0.30-0.50% by weight K.sub.2 O.
- 11. A glass according to claim 1 wherein the ratio of Li.sub.2 O to the combination of Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O is more than 1.
- 12. A glass according to claim 3 having no K.sub.2 O.
- 13. A glass according to claim 3 containing a smaller amount of K.sub.2 O than Na.sub.2 O.
- 14. A glass according to claim 3 containing 0.80-1.10% by weight of Na.sub.2 O and 0.30-0.50% by weight K.sub.2 O.
- 15. A glass according to claim 3 wherein the ratio of Li.sub.2 O to the combination of Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O is more than 1.
