Claims
- 1. A process for the production of a recording layer on an optical recording medium, which comprises the steps of:
- contacting a transparent substrate with a dye solution of an organic dye and an organic solvent, thereby forming an organic dye layer on the substrate; contacting the organic dye layer with either (a) a resin solution of a trifunctional silane represented by R.sup.1 Si(OR.sup.2).sub.3-n (X).sub.n and a tetrafunctional silane represented by Si(OR.sup.3).sub.4-m (X).sub.m, wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 individually represent an alkyl or aryl group, X represents a hydroxyl group or a halogen atom and n and m represent 0, 1, 2 or 3 and 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4, respectively, or (b) a resin solution of a trifunctional silane, the tetrafunctional silane and a thermoplastic resin, thereby forming a resin layer on the dye layer;
- heating the substrate to condense the resin thereon, thereby forming an organopolysiloxane resin layer on the substrate.
- 2. The process of claim 1, wherein the heating for the formation of the organic polysiloxane resin layer is conducted at room temperature to 100.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 50 hours.
- 3. The process of claim 1, wherein the tri-functional and tetrafunctional silanes are subjected to precondensation the resultant precondensation product is then coated on the organic dye layer, followed by heating to form the organopolysiloxane resin layer.
- 4. The process of claim 1, wherein the tri-functional and tetrafunctional silanes are subjected to precondensation the resultant precondensation product then mixed with a thermoplastic resin and then coated on the organic dye layer, followed by heating to form the organopolysiloxane resin layer.
- 5. The process of claim 1, wherein the tri-functional and tetrafunctional silanes and thermoplastic resin are subjected to precondensation the resultant precondensation product is then coated on the organic dye layer, followed by heating to form the organopolysiloxane resin layer.
- 6. The process of claims 3, wherein the precondensation is conducted until the average molecular weight of the resultant precondensation product reaches at least 300.
- 7. The process of claims 3, wherein the precondensation is conducted at room temperature to 100.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 10 hours.
- 8. The process of claim 1, wherein the heating to form of the organopolysiloxane resin layer is conducted in the presence of a catalyst.
- 9. The process according to claim 1, wherein the recording medium is formed substantially of a transparent substrate and a recording layer provided on the substrate so that recording of signals by the formation of bubbles and reading-out of recorded signals can be selectively performed by an irradiating laser beam from the transparent substrate side, and whereby a high CN ratio is obtained even when recording thereon in the form of pits of vary length and whereby no reduction in CN ratio occurs when the laser power is increased.
- 10. The process of claim 3, wherein the precondensation is conducted until the average molecular weight of the resultant precondensation product reaches at least 300; wherein the precondensation is conducted at room temperature to 100.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 10 hours; and wherein the condensation for the formation of the organopolysiloxane resin layer is conducted in the presence of a catalyst.
- 11. The process of claim 4, wherein the precondensation is conducted until the average molecular weight of the resultant precondensation product reaches at least 300; wherein the precondensation is conducted at room temperature to 100.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 10 hours; and wherein the condensation for the formation of the organopolysiloxane resin layer is conducted in the presence of a catalyst.
- 12. The process of claim 5, wherein the precondensation is conducted until the average molecular weight of the resultant precondensation product reaches at least 300; wherein the precondensation is conducted at room temperature to 100.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 10 hours; and wherein the condensation for the formation of the organopolysiloxane resin layer is conducted in the presence of a catalyst.
