Claims
- 1. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes which is to be disposed in an elongated insert section of a non-flexible endoscope having said insert section comprising:
- an objective lens system; and
- a relay lens system,
- wherein said relay lens system comprises a plurality of relay lens modules each of which relays a real image on an objective lens side to the opposite side, and each of which comprises plural lens elements, at least one relay lens module of said plurality of relay lens modules produces undercorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration and at least another relay lens module of said plurality of relay lens modules produces overcorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration, and
- wherein longitudinal chromatic aberration is corrected in said observation optical system as a whole by canceling said undercorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration with said overcorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration.
- 2. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 1,
- wherein said relay lens system is gradient index lens element-less,
- wherein said at least one relay lens module which produces undercorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration negative lens element-less, and
- wherein said at least another relay lens module which produces overcorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration comprises negative lens elements.
- 3. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 1, or 2,
- wherein said relay lens system is accommodated in an optical system holding tube disposed in said insert section.
- 4. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 1 or 2,
- wherein said at least one relay lens module which produces undercorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration also produces undercorrected sperical aberration, and
- wherein said at least another relay lens module which produces overcorrected longitudinal chromatic aberration also produces overcorrected spherical aberration, and
- wherein spherical aberration is corrected in said observation optical system as a whole by canceling the undercorrected sperical aberration with the overcorrected spherical aberration.
- 5. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 2, wherein a number of relay lens modules of said plurality of relay lens modules which comprises negative lens elements is less than a number of relay lens modules of said plurality of relay lens modules which is negative lens element-less.
- 6. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 2,
- wherein said at least one relay lens module which is negative lens element-less includes two rod-like lens components which are disposed symmetrically on both front and rear sides of a center of said at least one relay lens module.
- 7. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 2,
- wherein said at least one relay lens module which is negative lens element-less includes two plano-convex rod-like lens components having convex surfaces on sides of the images and biconvex lens components disposed between said plano-convex rod-like lens components,
- said lens components of said at least one relay lens module being disposed symmetrically on both front and rear sides of a center of said at least one relay lens module.
- 8. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 2 or 6, wherein said at least another relay lens module which comprises negative lens elements comprises, in the vicinities of the center of said relay lens module, at least two negative lens elements made of a glass material having an Abbe's number not exceeding 40.
- 9. An observation optical system for non-flexible endoscopes according to claim 2, 5, 6 or 7, wherein said at least one relay lens module which is negative lens element-less comprises a powerless optical element.
