Claims
- 1. A method of managing order document data, the order document data being represented as an object, the object being configurable so as to comprise a predetermined number of core components, the core components being configurable in their content, and being hierarchically ordered in a corresponding number of levels.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the object comprises a number of extensions.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the core components comprises a header and, optionally, at least one item.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein each of the core components additionally comprises at least one schedule line.
- 5. The method of claim 3, wherein the header comprises central information about an order.
- 6. The method of claim 5, wherein the number of levels is two, wherein a first level is the header and comprises business partner information, and wherein a second level is the item and comprises product information, order quantities, and a time stamp information.
- 7. The method of claim 5, wherein the number of levels is three, wherein a first level is the header and comprises business partner information, wherein a second level is the item and comprises product information, and wherein a third level is the schedule line and comprises order quantities, and time stamp information.
- 8. The method of claim 2, wherein an extension is assigned to a core component, and comprising additional information relating to the component.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the information comprised in an extension is organized in several parts, each part being linked with the corresponding core component.
- 10. A method of managing order document data, the order document data being represented as an object, the object being configurable so as to comprise a predetermined number of core components and a number of extensions, the core components being configurable in their content, and being hierarchically ordered in a corresponding number of levels, and the core components comprising a header, at least one item and at least one schedule line, the header comprising central information about an order, wherein the number of levels is three, wherein a first level is the header and comprises partner information, wherein a second level is the item and comprises product information, and wherein a third level is the schedule line and comprises order quantities and time stamp information.
- 11. A method of generating database objects and the associated program code for performing the method according to claim 1.
- 12. A method of generating database objects and the associated program code for performing the method according to claim 10.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the configuration is performed in a modular way on the basis of core components and extensions.
- 14. A computer system for performing the method according to claim 12.
- 15. A computer-readable storage medium comprising program code for performing the method according to claim 1.
- 16. A computer-readable storage medium comprising program code for performing the method according to claim 11.
- 17. A method of managing a database for a business application, the method comprising: organizing data into business objects; splitting the data into groups according to a configurable set of conditions, the conditions being based on semantic properties of the business objects; and
storing each of the groups of data in a set of tables of the database which is associated with a condition of the set of conditions.
- 18. The method of claim 17, wherein the set of conditions is based on the way how the business objects are accessed by a business application.
- 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the set of conditions is organized into a decision tree.
- 20. The method of claim 17, wherein the method is performed in a hidden manner to the business application.
- 21. A computer system for performing the method according to claim 17.
- 22. A computer-readable storage medium comprising program code for performing the method according to claim 17.
