Claims
- 1. Concentrator pad assembly for such uses as the concentration of ores, said assembly comprising:
- (a) a stretchable backing sheet,
- (b) a plurality of strips of flexible material adhesively secured to said backing sheet and disposed in closely adjacent relationship to each other, and in volute relationship extending outwardly from a central opening in said backing sheet, said strips, when thus secured, defining teeth on the side thereof remote from said backing sheet, and
- (c) said backing being stretchable to conform to relatively rigid means to maintain said backing sheet and said strips in a selected configuration.
- 2. The invention as claimed in claim 1, in which said adhesive is not brittle, but instead is flexible whereby to permit the combination of strips and backing sheet to be readily disposed in concave configuration.
- 3. The invention as claimed in claim 2, in which each of said strips has relatively small tooth means on a side thereof, said tooth means biting into adjacent strips in response to making of the strips and backing sheet concave by said last-named means, whereby to enhance the seals between adjacent strips.
- 4. The invention as claimed in claim 3, in which said backing sheet is rubber, and the regions of said strips between said small teeth and backing sheet are spaced slightly from each other in response to stretching of the rubber as the strips and backing sheet are made concave by said last-named means.
- 5. The invention as claimed in claim 1, in which each of said strips has a bead along one side thereof, and also has an elongated groove along the other side thereof adapted to receive said bead in interlocking relationship.
- 6. The invention as claimed in claim 1, in which each of said strips has a groove in the underside thereof adapted to receive adhesive, said groove being undercut whereby to enhance the securing of said strip to said backing sheet.
