ORGANIC EL DEVICE ARRAY

Abstract
Provided is an organic EL device array in which water or oxygen hardly enters a light emitting region, and high-quality light emission can be maintained for a longer period of time. The organic EL device array includes: a light emitting region (region I) having a plurality of organic EL light emitting portions for emitting light in an organic compound layer disposed between a pair of electrodes; a protective layer in contact with an upper electrode of the pair of electrodes; a member disposed on the protective layer; an intermediate layer disposed between the protective layer and the member, in which a thinner portion of the intermediate layer is present outside a light emitting region (region O) within the surface thereof.

Claims
  • 1. An organic EL device array, which includes within a surface thereof a light emitting region having a plurality of organic EL light emitting portions for emitting light in an organic compound layer disposed between a pair of electrodes, comprising: a protective layer in contact with an upper electrode of the pair of electrodes;a member disposed on the protective layer; andan intermediate layer disposed between the protective layer and the member, wherein the intermediate layer has a thinnest portion outside the light emitting region within the surface of the organic EL device array.
  • 2. The organic EL device array according to claim 1, further comprising an insulating film outside the light emitting region, wherein: the intermediate layer is disposed on the insulating film; andthe thinnest portion of the intermediate layer is provided on the insulating film.
  • 3. The organic EL device array according to claim 2, wherein the organic compound layer is disposed on the insulating film disposed outside the light emitting region.
  • 4. The organic EL device array according to claim 2, further comprising an insulating film disposed between the organic light emitting portions adjacent to each other, wherein the insulating film disposed outside the light emitting region has a length in an in-plane direction of the light emitting region, which is greater than a length, in the in-plane direction, of the insulating film disposed between the organic EL light emitting portions adjacent to each other.
  • 5. The organic EL device array according to claim 4, wherein the insulating film disposed outside the light emitting region is thicker than the insulating film disposed between the organic EL light emitting portions adjacent to each other.
  • 6. The organic EL device array according to claim 1, wherein: the member disposed on the protective layer has a protruding portion on a side of the intermediate layer; andthe intermediate layer has the smallest thickness between the protruding portion and the protective layer.
  • 7. The organic EL device array according to claim 1, wherein ends of the member and ends of the intermediate layer are covered with a resin.
  • 8. A display device comprising a display part including the organic EL device array according to claim 1.
  • 9. An image pickup apparatus comprising: the organic EL device array according to claim 1; and image pickup means.
