Claims
- 1. A method of inhibiting the feeding of insects comprising applying to said insects' food supply an effective amount of a compound of the formula: ##STR4## wherein R represents alkyl and Ar represents an aromatic ring selected from the group consisting of phenyl or indolyl, in each case unsubstituted, monosubstituted, or polysubstituted by identical or different substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, and halogenated alkyl.
- 2. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 7-methoxyindolyl-3.
- 3. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 3-indolyl.
- 4. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is phenyl.
- 5. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 4-methylphenyl.
- 6. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 2-fluorophenyl.
- 7. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 4-fluorophenyl.
- 8. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 4-methoxyphenyl.
- 9. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 3-methoxyphenyl.
- 10. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 3-methylphenyl.
- 11. A method as described in claim 1 wherein R is methyl and Ar is 4-n-heptylphenyl.
