Claims
- 1. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of a consumable material selected from the group consisting of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed polymers comprising the step of adding to said consumable material an aroma augmenting or enhancing quantity of at least one aldehyde having a structure selected from the group consisting of: ##STR137##
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR138##
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR139##
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR140##
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR141##
- 6. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR142##
- 7. The process of claim 1 wherein the aldehyde has the structure: ##STR143##
- 8. The process of claim 1 wherein the consumable material is a perfume composition or cologne.
- 9. The process of claim 1 wherein the consumable material is a perfumed polymer.
- 10. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of a consumable material selected from the group consisting of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles comprising the step of adding to said consumable material an aroma augmenting or enhancing quantity of a product containing a mixture of "cis" and "trans" isomers having the structures: ##STR144## produced according to the process of reacting n-propanal with isocyclocitral having the structure: ##STR145## in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide and methyl alcohol and then distilling the resulting product.
- 11. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of a consumable material selected from the group consisting of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles comprising the step of adding to said consumable material an aroma augmenting or enhancing quantity of a mixture of compounds having the structures: ##STR146## produced according to the process of reacting n-butanal with isocyclocitral having the structure: ##STR147## in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide and methyl alcohol and then distilling the resulting product.
- 12. The process of claim 10 wherein the consumable material is a perfume composition, or a cologne.
- 13. The process of claim 10 wherein the consumable material is a perfumed article and the perfumed article is a perfumed polymer.
- 14. The process of claim 11 wherein the consumable material is a perfume composition, or a cologne.
- 15. The process of claim 11 wherein the consumable material is a perfumed article and the perfumed article is a perfumed polymer.
