Claims
- 1. An oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine; comprising:
- (a) a base;
- (b) a machine truss fixedly mounted on said base;
- (c) a first machine plate fixedly mounted on the generally middle portion of said machine truss;
- (d) a second machine plate fixedly mounted on an upper portion of said machine truss;
- (e) a latch needle holder having a circumference provided with a plurality of latch needles, and a first central hollow shaft integrally formed with said latch needle holder, said first central hollow shaft being rotatably supported by said first machine plate;
- (f) a plurality of cams disposed around said latch needles on said latch needle holder and adapted to enable said latch needles to perform the knitting operation when said latch needle holder is rotated;
- (g) a first gear wheel fixedly mounted onto a lower end of said first central hollow shaft;
- (h) a first pinion adapted to drive said first gear wheel and fixedly mounted onto a shaft driven by an electric motor, said shaft being rotatably supported by an oscillation damping plate having one end fixedly mounted on a hub formed on said first machine plate and another end fixedly supported by another machine truss.
- 2. An oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine as recited in claim 1, wherein said circular knitting machine further comprises:
- (a) a second central hollow shaft rotatably supported by said second machine plate;
- (b) an upper latch needle plate fixedly mounted to said second central hollow shaft and having a plurality of upper latch needles to cooperate with the latch needles on said latch needle holder;
- (c) a plurality of cams adapted to enable said upper latch needles to perform the knitting operation when said upper latch needle plate is rotated;
- (d) an upper damping plate having one end fixedly mounted on a hub formed on said second machine plate and another end fixedly supported by another machine truss; and
- (e) a synchronous driving means for causing said upper latch needle plate to rotate synchronously with said latch needle holder.
- 3. An oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine as recited in claim 2, wherein said synchronous driving means is a combination of said first and second central hollow shafts into one integral member having a hollow interior, and said oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine further comprises
- a knife provided in between upper latch needle plate and said latch needle holder for cutting the knitted fabric;
- and said combined central hollow shaft is provided with an opening formed between said upper latch needle plate and said latch needle holder, said opening being adapted to allow the knitted fabric cut by said knife to flow into the hollow interior of said integrally combined central hollow shaft.
- 4. An oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine as recited in claim 2, wherein said synchronous driving means comprises:
- (a) a second gear wheel fixedly mounted onto an upper end of said second central hollow shaft; and
- (b) a second pinion adapted to drive said second gear wheel, said second pinion being mounted on an extension shaft extending from said shaft, said extension shaft being rotatably mounted on said upper oscillation damping plate, said second gear wheel being identical with said first gear wheel, and said second pinion being identical with said first pinion.
- 5. An oscillation damping and counterpoising circular knitting machine as recited on claim 2, wherein said synchronous driving means is:
- a bearing transmission assembly provided between said upper latch needle plate and said latch needle holder, having two transmission bearings respectively rotatably supported by two eccentric axes integrally formed and mounted on said upper latch needle plate, a driving bearing and a braking bearing respectively provided at the outer sides of the former two transmission bearings, said driving and braking bearings being rotatably mounted on said latch needle holder, said driving bearing being disposed on one side of one of said two transmission bearings and said braking bearing being disposed beside another one of said two transmission bearings opposite to said driving bearing.
