Claims
- 1. A method of controlling weeds which comprises applying to a locus containing weed seeds or supporting weed growth a herbicidally effective amount of a chemical having the structural formula ##SPC15##
- wherein R is selected from the group consisting of
- phenyl,
- phenyl substituted with up to three substituents wherein the substituents are halo, nitro, alkyl having up to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy having up to 4 carbon atoms,
- 4-methyl-2-(3-pyridyl)-5-thiazolyl,
- alkyl having up to 6 carbon atoms, and
- 3-pyridyl;
- and R' is hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonium, or a moiety having up to 12 carbon atoms selected from alkyl, alkynyl and epoxyalkyl.
- 2. A method as in claim 1 in which R is phenyl.
- 3. A method as in claim 1 in which R' is hydrogen.
- 4. A method as in claim 1 in which R' is alkyl.
- 5. The method of claim 1 in which R is phenyl and R' is hydrogen.
- 6. The method of claim 1 in which R is phenyl and R' is n-butyl.
