Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula: ##STR9## wherein R.degree. is branched alkyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms,
- R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or halo of atomic weight of from 18 to 36,
- n is 1 or 2,
- R' is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halo of atomic weight of from 18 to 36 or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and
- R" is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halo of atomic weight of from 18 to 36 or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, provided that
- i. when R, R' and R" each signifies hydrogen, then R.degree. signifies other than --C(CH.sub.3).sub.3, --CH(CH.sub.3).sub.2 or --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3).sub.2 and
- ii. when one of R' and R" signifies CH.sub.3 O-- in the 4-position and the other signifies hydrogen and R signifies hydrogen, then R.degree. signifies other than --CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3).sub.2.
- 2. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(p-methoxyphenoxy)-pivalophenone.
- 3. A compound of claim 1 which is 3,3-dimethyl-4'-phenoxy-butyrophenone.
- 4. A compound of claim 1 which is 2-methyl-4'-phenoxy-propiophenone.
- 5. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(p-methoxyphenoxy)-3,5-dichloropivalophenone.
- 6. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(p-methoxyphenoxy)-3-chloropivalophenone.
- 7. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(3'-chloro-4'-methoxyphenoxy)-3,5-dichloropivalophenone.
- 8. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(3',5'-di-t-butylphenoxy)-pivalophenone.
- 9. A compound of claim 1 which is 4-(p-chlorophenoxy)-pivalophenone.
