Claims
- 1. A p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid having the following structural formula: ##STR6## wherein Ar is a monovalent aromatic radical selected from the group consisting of ##STR7## and R and R' are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a monovalent aromatic radical as listed above, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.3, ##STR8##
- 2. The p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid according to claim 1 in which Ar is ##STR9## and R and R' are each ##STR10##
- 3. The p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid according to claim 1 in which Ar is ##STR11## and R and R' are each hydrogen.
- 4. The p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid according to claim 1 in which Ar is ##STR12## R is hydrogen and R' is ##STR13##
- 5. The p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid according to claim 1 in which Ar is ##STR14## and R and R' are each ##STR15##
- 6. The p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid according to claim 1 in which Ar is ##STR16## R is hydrogen and R' is ##STR17##
- 7. A p-terphenylene-dicarboxylic acid having the following structural formula: ##STR18## wherein Ar is ##STR19## and R and R' are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and ##STR20##
