- 21. The package system of claim 18 further comprising an article received with the recess.
- 22. A package system, comprising:
a container having a bottom wall, at least one upstanding side wall and a pair of spaced column members extending outwardly from the side wall, the container having an elongated recess formed between the pair of column members and which is configured to receive an article in nested relationship within the recess such that portions of the column members extend outwardly effectively beyond an exposed surface of the article when the article is received within the recess.
- 23. The package system of claim 22 wherein the recess opens vertically at opposite ends of the recess.
- 24. The package system of claim 22 wherein the bottom wall of the container is configured to receive an upper portion of a similarly configured container so as to permit stacking of similarly configured contains one on top of the other.
- 25. The package system of claim 22 further comprising at least one undercut formed in the side wall and communicating with the recess, the undercut having a depth which is greater than a depth of the recess.
- 26. The package system of claim 22 where each of the column members is continuous along its length.
- 27. The package system of claim 22 wherein each of the column members is segmented along its length.
- 28. The package system of claim 22 further comprising an article received with the recess.
- 29. A method of securing an article in nested relationship within a recess of a container, comprising:
applying an adhering material to a portion of the recess; moving the article in a direction toward and in general registration with the recess; contacting the article with the adhering material so as to secure the article in nested relationship within the recess.
- 30. The method of claim 29 wherein the contacting step comprises passing the article and container through a compression mechanism to urge the article into contact with the adhering material.
- 31. The method of claim 29 further comprising the step of at least partially overlying at least a portion of the recess and the article secured within the recess with a substrate.
