This application claims the benefit of priority from German Patent Application No. DE 10 2023 108846.7, filed on Apr. 6, 2023, the entirety of which is incorporated by reference.
The invention relates to a package consisting of cardboard and having a bottom, a top, and a circumferential side wall.
Various packages of the said type are known, but they have considerable disadvantages.
After they are first opened, these packages can be reclosed only poorly, if at all.
However, this is an important component of a modern and appealing package design.
The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a package that can be reclosed such that the contents cannot escape and are protected from external influences. Even pourable contents should not be able to escape.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the top is designed to be separated from the package, removed and replaced thereon.
The package can be opened and reclosed by means of this design.
It has proven very advantageous when a tear strip or other separation aid, with which a side wall cuff and the top can be separated from the rest of the package, is provided in the side wall.
The package is thus securely closed before first opening. The separated side wall cuff together with the top forms a cap, which can be used for reclosing.
Furthermore, it has proven very advantageous according to the invention when an insert in the form of a collar is provided on the inside of the side wall.
This insert protrudes beyond the tear strip or separation aid and into the side wall cuff of the top.
It has proven particularly advantageous here when the top is designed to be placed onto the collar.
The top is placed onto the collar protruding out of the package. The package is closed again.
It is also extremely advantageous according to a further embodiment of the invention when the insert forming the collar is formed circumferentially on the inside of the side wall.
The collar also forms a pouring aid for pourable filling materials. The circumferential formation means that inadvertent escape of the filling material in the wrong place is prevented.
It is extremely advantageous in this connection when the insert has an overlapping design.
By means of an overlapping design, the butt joint of the two side edges of the insert is sealed.
It has proven particularly advantageous here when a lateral step is provided, which extends over a part of the height of the insert.
Material is thereby saved in the region of the side wall. The overlap is provided only where it is actually needed, specifically in the part protruding beyond the side wall and forming the collar.
A further very advantageous development of the invention is one in which the upper edge of the insert is curved.
A spout is thus formed, which makes it easier to remove the filling material in portions.
According to a refinement of the invention, it is also very advantageous when the insert is connected to the side wall at points.
As a result, the insert is connected to the side wall movably, in the ideal case elastically.
It has proven particularly advantageous when the collar is at least slightly pretensioned.
The pretensioning ensures on the one hand that the insert or the collar bears neatly against the side wall of the package. In addition, it is ensured that the top replaced thereon is clamped and thus secured against inadvertently falling off.
In this connection, it has proven particularly advantageous according to the invention when at least one tab is hinged to the upper edge of the collar.
It is also very advantageous when at least two tabs are each hinged directly or indirectly adjacently to the side edges of the insert.
It has proven extremely advantageous when the tabs are folded outwards.
By means of these tabs, especially when they are folded outwards, the tension of the collar in the replaced top is increased. The top is again held better when reclosed.
A further very advantageous development is one in which the tabs are able to support themselves against the side wall cuff.
This achieves a latched connection between the collar and the replaced top cap. The top cap cannot accidentally be taken off or inadvertently slip off.
It is also extremely advantageous according to the invention when a tamper-evident closure is provided.
By means of a tamper-evident closure, a previous first opening of the package is made obvious.
It has proven very advantageous here when the tamper-evident closure is defined by a line of weakness.
The line of weakness can be the already mentioned tear strip. Also conceivable are tear aids such as tear threads or the like.
It is also very advantageous in this connection when a part of a cardboard layer of the side wall is designed to be removable.
A tear strip that is separated from the side wall fulfils this feature.
According to a refinement of the invention, it is also very advantageous when the top and/or the bottom is crimped or adhesively bonded into the package or is connected to the rest of the package in another way.
These connection variants ensure a secure connection between the side wall and the bottom or top.
It is particularly advantageous according to the invention when the package is produced from paper, cardboard or the like.
This avoids unnecessary waste consisting for example of plastic or the like. Depending on the intended purpose, the cardboard can be coated, impregnated, printed on or equipped in other ways.
It is also very advantageous according to the invention when a folding carton blank is provided to form an above package.
The package can thus be produced in a simple manner.
The invention is illustrated below using two exemplary embodiments.
In the figures:
In
In this exemplary embodiment, the bottom 3 and the top 4 are crimped into the tube formed by the side wall 2 and are themselves formed as a bottom disc and a top disc, respectively. The lateral part 2 is therefore crimped onto the bottom 3 and the top 4. It is also conceivable for the bottom 3 and/or the top 4 to enclose the lateral part or be inserted therein. In addition to the crimping, it is conceivable for the bottom 3 and/or the top 4 to be adhesively bonded, sealed or fastened in another way.
The tube can be cylindrical. However, oval or polygonal cross sections are also conceivable.
A tear strip 5 is provided in the upper region of the side wall 2 towards the top 4. This tear strip 5 is delimited by two lines of weakness, which can be designed as perforations, scratch lines, or the like. A reinforcement (not shown) can be provided under the tear strip. A tear band or a tear thread is conceivable here.
Instead of the tear strip, a single line of weakness, for example with a tear thread behind it, can also be provided. The side wall 2 is separated by pulling out the tear thread.
When the side wall 2 is separated, it is separated into a lower and an upper part. The upper part forms a top cap together with the top and the cuff 6 formed by the separation.
Other separation possibilities can be provided.
An insert 8 is provided on the inside of the side wall 2.
This insert is provided on one side with a step 9, which runs from the upper edge of the insert 8 over a part of the height.
This insert 8 is connected to the inside of the side wall 2 by means of adhesive bonding or sealing or another connection technique, such that the step 9 then overlaps with the opposite side edge of the insert when the side wall 2 is shaped to form the tube.
The arrangement of the insert in the vertical direction is adapted such that the region in which the step 9 is provided protrudes upwards beyond the tear strip 5. The part protruding beyond the tear strip 5 forms a collar 7, which is exposed when the top 4 is taken off.
The upper edge 10 of the insert 8 is arched so that a spout is formed in the upright state of the package.
As a result of the overlap of the insert 8 by means of the step 9, openings in the collar 7 that would cause filling material to run out in an uncontrolled manner when the filling material is poured out are prevented.
The insert 8 is connected to the side wall 2 only at a few locations. These locations are preferably arranged in the lower region facing the bottom 3. In the present exemplary embodiment, three bonding points are distributed one above the other over the height of the lower package part. Otherwise, the insert 8 is held only by the side wall 2, which is closed to form a tube by means of a longitudinal seam.
As a result, the insert 8 is relatively flexible in the region of the collar 7 and, owing to the material tension, tends to assume a slightly larger diameter, as determined by the side wall 2. The collar 7 is therefore under tension.
The tension ensures on the one hand that the step 9 bears firmly against the other side of the insert 8 and therefore that the overlap is securely closed.
In addition, this pretensioning ensures that the top, when replaced with its cuff 6 onto the collar 7, undergoes clamping, which prevents undesired and inadvertent slipping off of the top 4.
In addition, the tabs 11 shown in the second exemplary embodiment according to
These tabs 11 are folded over outwards and thus are supported on the inside of the top cap.
The contact pressure on the inside of the top cap is thereby increased. The top cap can then no longer slip off or be pulled off undesirably.
It is also conceivable in this connection when the tabs 11 can hook on the inside of the top cap, thus creating a latched connection.
To this end, a corresponding counter bearing can be provided on the inside of the top cap, for example.
This ensures very secure reclosing of the top cap.
In this connection, it is also conceivable for the tabs 11 to be folded outwards only after the first opening of the package, whereby the restoring forces of the cardboard material can be utilized in a targeted manner.
This again means that on the one hand there is a tamper-evident closure, which can only be opened by separating the side wall 2, and subsequently secure reclosing can be ensured. The contents of the package are thus protected in the best possible way and can still be removed cleanly in portions.
In this exemplary embodiment, the height of the insert 8 is matched to the height of the package and assumes its entire height, at least the entire height of the lower part of the package 1. Because of the doubling of the side wall 2 by the insert 8, the material of the side wall 2 and of the insert 8 can be selected to be comparatively thin in each case, since both stabilize one another and together form a stable and robust package. Material can thus be saved.
However, it is also conceivable for the insert 8 to have only a relatively low height.
The package can be produced from primary fibre cardboard, recycled cardboard, but also corrugated cardboard or the like.
A coating, impregnation or print is conceivable to ensure the desired properties in terms of resistance to moisture or fat. An oxygen barrier or the like can also be formed in this way.
A print with information or an artistic design can be provided, in particular on the outside.
The description of the individual parts relates both to the package blank and to the package formed therefrom.
