PACKING BOX FOR A WEIGHT LIFTING BAR

Abstract

A packing box for a weight lifting bar includes an elongate board having four parallel first folding lines to define the elongate board into a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, a fourth portion and a fifth portion. A second folding line is formed in each of two ends of the elongate board. Each of the two ends of the elongate board is defined into five end covers by the second folding line and the four first folding lines. The first portion is cut to have two side covers. The fifth portion is cut to have two openings. The elongate board is folded along the four first folding lines to form a quadratic body, and the end covers are folded inward to close the two open ends of the quadratic body. The bar in the packing box can be seen via the openings by opening the side covers.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Fields of the invention

The present invention relates to a packing box, and more particularly, to a packing box for receiving a weight lifting bar therein, and the bar can be seen via openings of the packing box.

2. Descriptions of Related Art

The conventional weight lifting equipment such as barbells and dumbbells generally comprise a bar and two weights which are connected to tow ends of the bar. The user holds the bar and lifts the barbell or the dumbbell to train the arm muscles. The bar and the weights are packed separately in stores. The conventional packing box for the bar of a barbell or a dumbbell is disclosed in FIGS. 6 and 7, wherein the packing box 8 is a cylindrical and hollow paper tube 81 with certain thickness. The bar 9 is received in the packing box 8 and two plastic covers 82 are used to seal the two open ends of the packing box 8. The two covers 82 are secured by tapes 83 so that the customer can hold the packing box 8 while the bar 9 in the packing box 8 does not drop from either of the two open ends.

It is noted that the manufacturing cost for the packing box 8 is high, and the two covers 82 are required to seal the two open ends of the packing box 8 by tapes. However, the bar 9 is movable in the packing box 8 and the cylindrical packing box 8 may slip from the customer's hand. Besides, the cylindrical packing boxes 8 are difficult to be piled up and occupy a lot of space. Furthermore, the customers cannot see the bar 9 in the packing box 8 if the tape 83 and the covers 82 are not removed from the packing box 8.

The present invention intends to provide a packing box for receiving a bar therein, the packing box has openings for observation of the bar and eliminates the shortcomings mentioned above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a packing box for a weight lifting bar and comprises includes an elongate board and four first folding lines are formed in parallel to the elongate board so as to define the elongate board into a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, a fourth portion and a fifth portion. A second folding line is formed in each of two ends of the elongate board and perpendicular to the four first folding lines. Each of the two ends of the elongate board is defined into five end covers by the second folding line and the four first folding lines. The first portion is cut to have two side covers, and the fifth portion is cut to have two openings located corresponding to the two side covers. The elongate board is folded along the four first folding lines to form a quadratic body, and the end covers are folded inward to close the two open ends of the quadratic body. The bar is received in the packing box and can be seen via the openings of the fifth portion by pivoting the side covers of the first portion.

Preferably, each of the side covers has a notch defined in the distal edge thereof.

Preferably, the distance between the two side covers is substantially equal to a user's shoulder width.

Preferably, the elongate board is a paper board.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a packing box of a bar wherein the packing box has two openings through which the user can hold the bar.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a packing box of a bar wherein the packing box has two openings through which the bar can be seen.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1, the packing box 10 of the present invention comprises an elongate board which is made by paper, and four first folding lines 101 are formed in parallel to the elongate board. The four first folding lines 101 define the elongate board into a first portion 11, a second portion 12, a third portion 13, a fourth portion 14 and a fifth portion 15. A second folding line 102 is formed in each of two ends of the elongate board and perpendicular to the four first folding lines 101. Each of the two ends of the elongate board is defined into five end covers 16 between the second folding line 102 and the four first folding lines 101 by cutting along the four first folding lines 101 and being ended at the second folding line 102. The first portion 11 is cut transversely four positions to form two side covers 111 which are able to be pivoted away from the first portion 11. The fifth portion 15 is cut to have two openings 151 which are located corresponding to the two side covers 111.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the elongate board is folded along the four first folding lines 101 in sequence so as to form a quadratic body, wherein the first portion 11 is overlapped on the fifth portion 15 as shown in FIG. 5. The first portion 11 is secured to the fifth portion 15 by any known method such as gluing or stapling. The end covers 16 of one end of the quadratic body are then folded inward, and tapes are used to connect the end covers 16 and to seal the open end of the end of the quadratic body. The bar 9 is then received in the quadratic body from the other open end of the quadratic body, and the same steps are taken to seal the other open end of the quadratic body. The elongate board is corrugate paper board which provides suitable cushion feature.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, there are two openings 151 defined in the fifth portion 15 and the two side covers 111 are located to cover up the two openings 151. Each of the side covers 111 has a notch 112 defined in the distal edge thereof, so that the customer can easily pivot and open the side covers 111 by insertion a finger into the notches 112. By opening the side covers 111, the bar 9 in the packing box 10 of the present invention can be partially seen. By this way, the customer can check the bar 9 in the packing box 10. Besides, the distance between the two side covers 111 is substantially equal to a user's shoulder width, so that the user can easily hold the bar 9 via the openings 151.

The packing box 10 is easily piled up and the open ends of the quadratic body are sealed by the end covers 16 and tapes 18. No plastic covers are needed. The customers can check the bar 9 in the packing box 10 via the openings 151, and the customers can hold the bar 9 through the openings 151 without worry of slippery surface of the packing box 10.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A packing box comprising: an elongate board and four first folding lines formed in parallel to the elongate board, the four first folding lines defining the elongate board into a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, a fourth portion and a fifth portion, a second folding line being formed in each of two ends of the elongate board and perpendicular to the four first folding lines, each of the two ends of the elongate board being defined into five end covers by the second folding line and the four first folding lines, the first portion being cut to have two side covers, the fifth portion being cut to have two openings which are located corresponding to the two side covers.

2. The packing box as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the side covers has a notch defined in a distal edge thereof.

3. The packing box as claimed in claim 1, wherein a distance between the two side covers is adapted to be substantially equal to a user's shoulder width.

4. The packing box as claimed in claim 1, wherein the elongate board is a paper board.
