Claims
- 1. A paint ball gun comprising a handle, a barrel, a feed tube, a paint ball hopper/feeder apparatus or magazine and a connecting member or adapter, where the magazine includes an outer shell, a paint ball reservoir, an open end having a lid, a hollow neck and a first closing assembly, where the adapter includes a second closing assemblies, where the closing assemblies have a closed state and an open state and where open states permit paintballs to exit either the magazine or the adapter and closed states prevent paintballs from exiting either the magazine or the adapter.
- 2. The gun of claim 1, wherein the first closing assembly comprises a slot in a bottom portion of the outer shell of the magazine and a closing member adapted to slide in the slot between the open stat and closed state.
- 3. The gun of claim 1, wherein the first closing assembly comprises a slot in neck and a closing member adapted to be removed from the slot to transition the assembly from its closed state and its open state.
- 4. The gun of claim 1, wherein the first closing assembly comprises a groove in an inner surface of the neck and a closing member adapted to fit in the groove when the assembly is in its open state and extend across the neck when the assembly is in its closed state.
- 5. The gun of claim 1, wherein the second the closing assembly comprises a slot in a central portion of the adapter and a closing member inserted into the slot and adapted to be removed from the slot to transition the closing assembly from its closed state to its opened state.
- 6. The gun of claim 1, wherein the second closing assembly comprises a flip type member having a tongue for blocking the adapter and a tab for flipping the tongue from its closed state to its opened state where the tongue lies along an inner surface of the adapter
- 7. The gun of claim 1, wherein the second closing assembly comprises a wing nut assembly including a wing screw and a nut affixed to the adapter, where unscrewing the wing screw transitions the adapter from its closed state to its opened state.
- 8. The gun of claim 1, wherein the neck includes a neck connector at its distal end, wherein the adapter includes a proximal adapter connector and distal adapter connector, each having a tightener, where the neck connector is designed to lockingly engage the proximal adapter connector, the distal adapter connector is designed to lockingly engage the feed tube and tighteners are designed to increase a locking force on each of the engaging connections.
- 9. A paint ball gun comprising a handle, a barrel, a feed tube, a paint ball magazine, and a hollow connecting member interposed between the magazine and the feed tube, where the magazine includes an outer shell, a paint ball reservoir, an open end having a lid, and a hollow neck, where the connecting member includes a closing assembly, where the closing assembly has a closed state and an opened state and where paintballs can exit the adapter into the feed tube when the closing assembly is in the opened state and paintballs cannot exit the adapter when the closing assembly is in the closed state.
- 10. The gun of claim 9, wherein the second the closing assembly comprises a slot in a central portion of the adapter and a closing member inserted into the slot and adapted to be removed from the slot to transition the closing assembly from its closed state to its opened state.
- 11. The gun of claim 9, wherein the second closing assembly comprises a flip type member having a tongue for blocking the adapter and a tab for flipping the tongue from its closed state to its opened state where the tongue lies along an inner surface of the adapter
- 12. The gun of claim 9, wherein the second closing assembly comprises a wing nut assembly including a wing screw and a nut affixed to the adapter, where unscrewing the wing screw transitions the adapter from its closed state to its opened state.
- 13. The gun of claim 9, wherein the neck includes a neck connector at its distal end, wherein the adapter includes a proximal adapter connector and distal adapter connector, where the neck connector is designed to lockingly engage the proximal adapter connector, the distal adapter connector is designed to lockingly engage the feed tube and tighteners are designed to increase a locking force on each of the engaging connections.
- 14. The gun of claim 13, wherein the connecting member further includes tighteners associated with the second and third connectors adapted to increase a locking force of the threaded connectors.
- 15. The gun of claim 9, wherein the neck further includes a tightener adapted to secure the magazine to the feed tube.
- 16. The gun of claim 9, wherein the hopper/feeder apparatus comprises a unitary structure and the lid is pivotally mounted on the opened end of the hopper/feeder apparatus or the hopper/feeder apparatus comprises an first half and a second half held together by a plurality of fasteners and wherein the lid is pivotally mounted on the opened end of the hopper/feeder apparatus.
- 17. A paintball adapter or connecting member comprising a hallow tube including a first end having a first connector for connecting to a paintball hopper, a second end having a second connector for connecting to a feed tube of a paintball connector and a assembly, where the closing assembly has a closed state and an open state and where paint balls can drop through the adapter into the feed tube when the closing assembly is in the open state and paint balls cannot drop through the adapter when the closing assembly is in the closed state.
- 18. The adapter of claim 17, wherein the closing assembly comprises a slot in a central portion of the adapter and a closing member inserted into the slot and adapted to be removed from the slot to transition the closing assembly from its closed state to its opened state.
- 19. The adapter of claim 17, wherein the closing assembly comprises a flip type member having a tongue for blocking the adapter and a tab for flipping the tongue from its closed state to its opened state where the tongue lies along an inner surface of the adapter.
- 20. The adapter of claim 17, wherein the closing assembly comprises a wing nut assembly including a wing screw and a nut affixed to the adapter, where unscrewing the wing screw transitions the adapter from its closed state to its opened state.
