Claims
- 1. A spring wire clip for clipping together sheets having a forward end and a rear end and adapted to be driven by a machine having a pusher, comprising:
- a head at the rear end of the clip adapted to be engaged by said pusher,
- a first pair of legs connected to the head and extending forwardly beyond the width of the head,
- a transverse leg connected at one end to the forward end of each of said first pair of legs,
- said transverse legs both extending inwardly and being adjacent to each other, and
- a rearwardly extending return leg connected to the other end of each transverse leg and lying forward of the head,
- all of said clip lying in substantially the same plane and at least a portion of each return leg lying beyond the width of the head.
- 2. A clip in accordance with claim 1 in which the head has at its forward end a pair of inwardly extending portions connected to the first pair of legs respectively and adapted to engage a stop to limit the forward motion of the clip.
- 3. A clip in accordance with claim 1 or claim 2 in which the head has a pair of substantially straight forwardly extending divergent portions.
- 4. A spring wire clip for clipping together sheets having a forward end and a rear end and comprising:
- a head at the rear end of the clip having a pair of substantially straight forwardly extending divergent portions connected respectively to a pair of inwardly extending portions,
- a first pair of legs connected respectively to the forward ends of said inwardly extending portions and extending forwardly beyond the width of the head,
- a transverse leg connected at one end to the forward end of each of said first pair of legs,
- said transverse legs both extending inwardly and being adjacent to each other, and
- a rearwardly extending return leg connected to the other end of each transverse leg,
- all of said clip lying in substantially the same plane and at least a portion of each return leg lying beyond the width of the head.
- 5. A stack of spring wire clips for clipping together sheets with each clip having a forward end and a rear end and adapted to be driven by a machine having a pusher, each clip comprising:
- a head at the rear end of the clip adapted to be engaged by said pusher,
- a first pair of legs connected to the head and extending forwardly beyond the width of the head,
- a transverse leg connected at one end to the forward end of each of said first pair of legs,
- said transverse legs both extending inwardly and being adjacent to each other, and
- a rearwardly extending return leg connected to the other end of each transverse leg,
- all of each clip lying in substantially the same plane and at least a portion of each return leg lying beyond the width of the head,
- said clips being secured together by an adhesive.
- 6. A stack of clips in accordance with claim 5 in which the head of each clip has at its forward end a pair of inwardly extending portions connected to the first pair of legs respectively.
- 7. A stack of clips in accordance with claim 5 or 6 in which the head has a pair of substantially straight forwardly extending divergent portions.
