Abstract
A paper transmitting apparatus for a printer, comprises a bracket comprising a paper tray mounted thereon, the paper tray is adapted to receive a piece of paper in the paper tray; and a driving mechanism comprising a roller rotatablely mounted on the driving mechanism, a sleeve fitted around the roller, a plurality of grains located on an outer surface of the sleeve to increase a surface roughness of the outer surface of the sleeve, the outer surface of the sleeve rests on the piece of paper, and the driving mechanism is adapted to rotate the roller to move the piece of paper on the paper tray.
Description
BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

The present disclosure relates to a paper transmitting apparatus for a printer.

2. Description of Related Art

Printers are widely used. For transmitting papers in a printer, a paper transmitting apparatus is used in the printer. The paper transmitting apparatus usually includes a rotatable roller. The roller contacts papers to bring papers moving in the printer. When the roller is used for a long period of time, the roller may be burnished smooth by papers, and such a roller may not move the papers efficiently.

Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is an exploded and isometric view of an embodiment of a paper transmitting apparatus for a printer.

FIG. 2 is an isometric view of a roller of the paper transmitting apparatus of FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is an assembly view of the paper transmitting apparatus of FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is another assembly view of the paper transmitting apparatus of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.

Referring to FIG. 1, a paper transmitting apparatus for a printer includes a bracket 10 and a driving mechanism 30. The bracket 10 is mounted on the printer.

The bracket 10 includes a first board 11, and a second board 13 perpendicular to the first board 11. A paper tray 14 is mounted on the first board 11. Pieces of paper 50 are located on the paper tray 14. The second board 13 defines an opening 131. The opening 131 is aligned with the paper tray 14.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the driving mechanism 30 includes a carrier 31. The rear portion of the carrier 31 is pivotally mounted on the printer. A roller 32 is pivotally mounted on the front portion of the carrier 31. Two sleeves 35 are fitted on the roller 32, wherein each of the two sleeves 35 has a central line. A plurality of grains 37 are integrally formed on each of the two sleeves 35 and fluted on an outer surface of each of the two sleeves 35. A symmetry of the plurality of grains 37 about the central line of each of the sleeve 35 resembles an arrowhead pointing forwards. A motor (not shown) is mounted on the driving mechanism 30. A plurality of gears 34 links the motor and the roller 32. The motor rotates the roller 32 via the plurality of gears 34. The two sleeves 35 rotate with the roller 32.

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, in assembly, the bracket 10 is mounted in the printer. The rear portion of the carrier 31 is pivotally mounted on the printer. The driving mechanism 30 rotates on the printer between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the roller 32 is located above the paper tray 14 and does not contact the paper tray 14. In the second position, the two sleeves 35 of the roller 32 rest on the paper tray 14 or on any pieces of paper 50 in the paper tray 14.

When the driving mechanism 30 is positioned in the second position, if there is any pieces of paper 50 in the paper tray 14, the two sleeves 35 come in contact with the pieces of paper 50. The motor rotates the roller 32 to move the pieces of paper 50. The two sleeves 35 cause the pieces of paper 50 to slide on the paper tray 14 and through the opening 131.

Because there are a plurality of grains 37 fluted on the outer surface of each of the two sleeves 35, even if the two sleeves 35 become burnished over time by making contact with the pieces of paper 50, friction force of the plurality of grains 37 still remains and may continue to move the pieces of paper 50.

Although numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in the matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
