Claims
- 1. A particulate flow enhancing additive comprising:
a particulate solid adsorbent material having a flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon; and wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing organic acid selected from the group consisting of polar molecule producing alkene carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and salts of such acids formed with weak bases.
- 2. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is selected from the group consisting of precipitated silica, zeolite, talcum, diatomaceous earth and fuller's earth.
- 3. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is precipitated silica.
- 4. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a compound which produces polar molecules that react with cementitious materials and increase their flow properties.
- 5. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing acid anhydride selected from the group consisting of sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur trioxide and nitrogen oxides.
- 6. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 7. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent is precipitated silica and said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 8. The flow enhancing additive of claim 7 wherein the weight ratio of said precipitated silica to said glacial acetic acid is in the range of from about 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 9. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from about 90:10 to about 10:90.
- 10. The flow enhancing additive of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 11. A particulate flow enhancing additive consisting essentially of:
a particulate solid adsorbent material having a flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon; wherein said flow inducing chemical is selected from the group consisting of polar molecule producing alkene carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and salts of such acids formed with weak bases; and wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical is in the range of from about 90:10 to about 10:90.
- 12. The flow enhancing additive of claim 11 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a compound which produces polar molecules that react with cementitious materials and increase their flow properties.
- 13. The flow enhancing additive of claim 11 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is selected from the group consisting of zeolite, talcum, diatomaceous earth and fuller's earth.
- 14. The flow enhancing additive of claim 11 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is zeolite.
- 15. The flow enhancing additive of claim 11 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from about 75:25 to 25:75.
- 16. The flow enhancing additive of claim 11 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent is zeolite and said flow inducing chemical is an alkene carboxylic acid.
- 17. The flow enhancing additive of claim 16 wherein said weight ratio of said zeolite to said alkene carboxylic acid is in the range of from about 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 18. A particulate flow enhancing additive comprising:
a particulate solid adsorbent material having a flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon; and wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from about 90:10 to about 10:90.
- 19. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is selected from the group consisting of precipitated silica, zeolite, talcum, diatomaceous earth and fuller's earth.
- 20. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is precipitated silica.
- 21. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a compound which produces polar molecules that react with cementitious materials and increase their flow properties.
- 22. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said flow-inducing chemical is selected from the group consisting of polar molecule producing organic acids, salts of organic acids and acid anhydrides.
- 23. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing organic acid selected from the group consisting of alkyl carboxylic acids, alkene carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and salts of such acids formed with weak bases.
- 24. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing acid anhydride selected from the group consisting of sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur trioxide and nitrogen oxides.
- 25. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 26. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent is precipitated silica and said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 27. The flow enhancing additive of claim 18 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 28. The flow enhancing additive of claim 26 wherein the weight ratio of said precipitated silica to said glacial acetic acid is in the range of from about 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 29. A particulate flow enhancing additive comprising:
a particulate solid adsorbent material selected from the group consisting of precipitated silica, zeolite, talcum, diatomaceous earth and fuller's earth having a flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon; wherein said flow inducing chemical is selected from the group consisting of polar molecule producing organic acids, salts of organic acids and acid anhydrides; and wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from about 90:10 to about 10:90.
- 30. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is precipitated silica.
- 31. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a compound which produces polar molecules that react with cementitious materials and increase their flow properties.
- 32. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing organic acid selected from the group consisting of alkyl carboxylic acids, alkene carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and salts of such acids formed with weak bases.
- 33. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing acid anhydride selected from the group consisting of sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur trioxide and nitrogen oxides.
- 34. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 35. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent is precipitated silica and said flow inducing chemical is glacial acetic acid.
- 36. The flow enhancing additive of claim 29 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 37. The flow enhancing additive of claim 35 wherein the weight ratio of said precipitated silica to said glacial acetic acid is in the range of from about 75:25 to about 25:75.
- 38. A particulate flow enhancing additive comprising:
a particulate solid adsorbent material selected from the group consisting of precipitated silica, zeolite, talcum, diatomaceous earth and fuller's earth having a flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon; wherein said flow inducing chemical is a polar molecule producing organic acid selected from the group consisting of alkyl carboxylic acids, alkene carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and salts of such acids formed with weak bases; and wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from about 90:10 to about 10:90.
- 39. The flow enhancing additive of claim 38 wherein said particulate solid adsorbent material is precipitated silica.
- 40. The flow enhancing additive of claim 38 wherein the weight ratio of said particulate solid adsorbent material to said flow inducing chemical adsorbed thereon is in the range of from 75:25 to about 25:75.
