This application relates to the technical field of batteries, and in particular, to a partition plate, a partition plate assembly, a battery module, a battery pack, and an electrical device.
When a cell in a battery module or a battery pack has thermal runaway, an explosion-proof valve on the cell needs to be opened in time to exhaust the gas generated, and the current thermal runaway exhaust of the cell is likely to be untimely, resulting in the failure of the battery module or the battery pack.
In view of the above problems, this application provides a partition plate, a partition plate assembly, a battery module, a battery pack, and an electrical device, which can change an exhaust path through an exhaust structure of the partition plate to prevent the occurrence of a problem that the failure of the battery module or the battery pack is easily caused during exhaust.

In the technical solution of an embodiment of this application, the exhaust holes are provided at least toward the first direction and the second direction, which can avoid the risk of the top of the battery module or the battery pack bursting due to the difficult exhaust, and thus can prevent the problem of the failure of the battery module or the battery pack from occurring.

In some embodiments, a pressure relief mechanism is also provided at the bottom of the battery cell.
The pressure relief mechanism is provided so that gas can be simultaneously exhausted from the top and the bottom when a cell assembly of the battery module is in thermal runaway, which makes it possible that the gas inside the cell assembly can be discharged in a timely manner, and the risk of bursting of the battery module or the battery pack can be further reduced.

In some embodiments, a gap is provided between a side wall of the battery module and a side wall of the box body, the battery pack further includes a flow guide member, the flow guide member is provided between a bottom of the battery module and a bottom of the box body, the flow guide member is provided with a first flow guide port and a second flow guide port communicating with the first flow guide port, the second flow guide port communicates with the gap, and the first flow guide port is provided opposite a pressure relief mechanism of a battery cell.
The gas from the thermal runaway of a battery can be laterally exported from the bottom to the gap between the side wall of the box body and the side wall of the battery module, which accelerates the exhausting speed of the battery when the battery is in thermal runaway, avoids localized trapped gases, and further reduces the risk of bursting of the battery module/battery pack.
In some embodiments, the first flow guide port passes through the flow guide member along the thickness direction of the partition plate, and the second flow guide port is provided along the first direction.
The second flow guide port can better guide the gas discharged from the bottom of the battery module to the gap between the side wall of the box body and the side wall of the battery module, avoiding the problem of “trapped gas” caused by difficult gas exhaust at the bottom.
In a fifth aspect, this application provides an electrical device including the battery module of the third aspect, the battery module being used for providing electrical energy; or including the battery pack of the fourth aspect, the battery pack being used for providing electrical energy.
The electrical device includes technical features of the above-mentioned battery module or the above-mentioned battery pack, and has the same effect as described above, which will not be repeated herein.

The applicant notes that when a cell of a battery is in thermal runaway, air is exhausted from the top, and with an exhaust hole set towards the top, and the gap between the exhaust hole and a top cover of a battery module or battery pack is small, which is prone to trap gas, and the gas impacts the top cover during exhaust, which may cause the battery to burst and cause the battery to fail.
In order to solve the above problems, the applicant has found that the direction of the exhaust holes can be changed so that the exhaust holes exhaust gas from a side surface, which can avoid the impact of the exhaust holes on the top cover of the battery module or the battery pack, and a plurality of exhaust holes in a plurality of directions can be provided on the partition plate in order to increase the exhaust speed, so that the gas can be discharged in a timely manner, and the phenomenon of “trapped gas” can be further avoided, so as to reduce the risk of battery bursting.
Embodiments of this application provide an electrical device including a battery cell or a battery pack, the battery cell or the battery pack providing electrical energy to the electrical device. The electrical device may be, but is not limited to, a cell phone, a tablet, a laptop computer, an electric toy, a power tool, an electric vehicle, an electric car, a ship, a spacecraft, and the like. Among them, the electric toy may include a stationary or mobile electric toy, for example, a game console, an electric car toy, an electric boat toy, an electric airplane toy, and so on, and the spacecraft may include an airplane, a rocket, a space shuttle, a spaceship, and so on.
The following embodiments are illustrated, for convenience of illustration, with an example of a vehicle 1000 serving as an electrical device according to some embodiments of this application.

The plurality of battery cells 20 may be connected in series or in parallel or in parallel and series, and “connected in parallel and series” means that there are both series and parallel connections in the plurality of battery cells 20. Certainly, in the battery pack 100, the plurality of battery cells 20 may first be connected in series or in parallel or in parallel and series to form battery modules, and then a plurality of battery modules are connected in series or in parallel or in parallel and series to form a whole that is accommodated in the box body 11. The battery pack 100 may also include other structures, for example, the battery pack 100 may also include a busbar component used for realizing an electrical connection between the plurality of battery cells 20.
Each battery cell 20 may be a secondary battery or a primary battery, and may also be a lithium-sulfur battery, a sodium-ion battery, or a magnesium-ion battery, but is not limited thereto. The battery cells 20 may be cylindrical, flat, rectangular, or other shapes, etc.

The top cover assembly 21 is a component that caps on the inlet port of the shell 22 to insulate the internal environment of the battery cell 20 from the external environment. Without limitation, the shape of the top cover assembly 21 may be adapted to the shape of the housing 22 to match the housing 22. Optionally, the top cover assembly 21 may be made of a material (e.g., an aluminum alloy) having a certain degree of hardness and strength, so that the top cover assembly 21 is less likely to deform when subjected to an extrusion and collision, so that the battery cell 20 can have a higher structural strength, and have an improved safety performance. The top cover assembly 21 may be provided with functional components such as an electrode terminal 21a. The electrode terminal 21a may be used to be electrically connected to the cell assembly 23 for outputting or inputting electrical energy from the battery cell 20. In some embodiments, the top cover assembly 21 may also be provided with a pressure relief mechanism for relieving the internal pressure of the battery cell 20 when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell 20 reaches a threshold value. The top cover assembly 21 may also be made of a variety of materials, for example, copper, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, plastic, etc., and the embodiments of this application do not impose any special limitations thereon. In some embodiments, an insulator may also be provided on the inner side of the top cover assembly 21, and the insulator may be used to isolate electrically connected components within the housing 22 from the top cover assembly 21 to reduce the risk of a short circuit. Exemplarily, the insulator may be plastic, rubber, etc.
The shell 22 is a component for cooperating with the top cover assembly 21 to form an internal environment of the battery cell 20, where the formed internal environment may be used to accommodate the cell assembly 23, an electrolyte solution, and other components. The housing 22 and the top cover assembly 21 may be separate components, and an inlet port may be provided in the housing 22, with the top cover assembly 21 capping on the inlet port to form the internal environment of the battery cell 20. Without limitation, it is also possible to integrate the top cover assembly 21 and the housing 22. Specifically, the top cover assembly 21 and the housing 22 may form a common connecting face before other components are put in the housing, and then the top cover assembly 21 can be made to cap on the housing 22 when it is necessary to encapsulate the interior of the housing 22. The housing 22 may be of a variety of shapes and of a variety of sizes, such as rectangular shaped, cylindrical shaped, hexagonal prism shaped, and the like. Specifically, the shape of the housing 22 may be determined based on the specific shape and size of the cell assembly 23. The material of the housing 22 may be various, for example, copper, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, plastic, etc., and the embodiments of this application do not impose any special limitations thereon.
The cell assembly 23 is the component in the battery cell 20 in which the electrochemical reaction occurs. The shell 22 may contain one or more cell assemblies 23. The cell assembly 23 is mainly formed by coiling or stacking a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, and a separator is usually provided between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. The portions of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate having active materials form a main body portion of the cell assembly, and the portions of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate not having an active material each form a tab. A positive tab 23a and a negative tab 23b may be located together at one end of the main body portion or at two ends of the main body portion respectively. During charging and discharging of the battery, a positive active material and a negative active material react with the electrolyte solution, and the tabs are connected to electrode terminals to form a current circuit.

In some embodiments, the partition plate includes a partition plate body 31 and an exhaust hood 32. The exhaust hood 32 is provided on one side of the thickness direction C of the partition plate body in a convex manner and connected to the partition plate body 31, an internal space of the exhaust hood 32 forms an exhaust channel, along the thickness direction C of the partition plate body, the exhaust channel passes through the partition plate body 31, and a plurality of exhaust holes 321 are disposed on the exhaust hood 32.
The shape of the exhaust hood 32 may be, but is not limited to, square, round, trapezoidal, etc., which may be specifically set according to actual needs.
The exhaust hood 32 is connected to the partition plate body 31, meaning that the exhaust hood 32 is fixed relative to the partition plate body 31 and cannot move.
Exemplarily, the exhaust holes 321 are provided on a side surface of the exhaust hood 32, while the exhaust holes 321 are not provided on the top surface of the exhaust hood 32, and the exhaust holes 321 are provided at least toward the first direction B and the second direction A, and the first direction B and the second direction A may be perpendicular or not perpendicular to the thickness direction C of the partition plate body.
