The present invention relates to a garment, particularly to patient pants that allow those who have to stay on a wheelchair most of the time to directly perform excretion thereon.
As population aging becomes more serious, illnesses that cause paralysis or physically disabilities are more common. Excretion has also become a problem for those who have to lie on beds or move with wheelchairs most of the time. To reduce their families and caregivers burdens, some wheelchairs and nursing beds have excretion devices.
Although the wheelchairs 90 and the nursing bed 100 disclosed have excretion devices for their users, it is still inconvenient since the users have to take off their pants before excreting; and it gets more embarrassing and even self-esteem hurting when the scene comes to outdoors.
Conventional pants have a waist portion connecting two leg portions and a zipper. However, the length of the zipper is not long enough to form an opening under the pants. Therefore, such pants are not suitable for those who have to lie on beds or sit on wheelchairs most of the time in view of convenient excretion.
The present invention aims to resolve the problem of direct excretion performing on a nursing bed or a wheelchair for its users with their pants on.
To achieve the objects mentioned above, the present invention comprises a pair of pants having a waist portion linking with two symmetrical leg portions and a U-shaped opening perpendicularly arranged across an adjacent edge of the leg portions; a pair of front suspenders arranged at a front of the waist portion with each suspender having a front positioning hole and a pair of rear suspenders arranged at a rear of the waist portion with each suspender having a rear positioning hole and passing through a guiding ring; two front passages arranged correspondingly for the front suspenders to individually pass through, each passage having an upper end sewn on the pants and a lower end arranged near the U-shaped opening without sewing, making it partially detachable; two rear passages sewn on the pants correspondingly for the rear suspenders to individually pass through; an anti-splash cover in an arc shape having a first end sewn on the pants and a second end arranged at a front of the U-shaped opening without sewing, making it partially detachable; a displaceable covering piece arranged under the U-shaped opening correspondingly, having a front end thereof connecting to a pair of bands, each band having a free end individually passing through the front passage on the same side and fixed on the front suspender on the same side, and a rear end thereof connecting to a pair of strips, each strip having a free end individually passing through the rear passage and guiding ring on the same side and then being upwardly positioned to each side; and two pads made of soft materials with ventilation sewn on a position corresponding to buttocks of human body and arranged across the covering piece, forming a space between the pads.
Thereby when pulling the strips backwards, the covering piece would displace backwards and uncover the U-shaped opening for a user to perform excretion; when loosening the strips, the covering piece would displace back to an original position and cover the U-shaped opening.
In short, the present invention allows those who have difficulties in moving, usually patients and elders, to perform excretion with more conveniences and without relying on others' helps, thus regain some self-esteem for them and reduce burdens on their caregivers as well. Also, such design helps with better environment hygiene.
With reference to
The pants 10 have a waist portion 11 linking with two symmetrical leg portions 12 and a U-shaped opening 13 perpendicularly arranged across an adjacent edge of the leg portions 12.
The front suspenders 20 are arranged at a front of the waist portion 11, each of which has a front positioning hole 21. The rear suspenders 30 are arranged at a rear of the waist portion 11, each of which has a rear positioning hole 31 and passes through a guiding ring 32. In this embodiment, the front and rear positioning holes 21, 31 are buttonholes for buttons (not shown) to pass through, therefore positioning the waist portion 11.
Each front passage 40 is arranged correspondingly for one of the front suspenders 20 to pass through and has an upper end 41 sewn on the pants 10 and a lower end 42 arranged near the U-shaped opening 13 without sewing, making it partially detachable, and the rear passages 50 are correspondingly sewn on the pants as well so that each of which allows one of the rear suspenders 30 to pass through.
The anti-splash cover 60 is arranged in an arc shape. It has a first end 61 sewn on the pants 10 and a second end 62 arranged at a front of the U-shaped opening 13 without sewing, making it partially detachable; the anti-splash cover 60 further includes an arc portion 63 and a pair of wings 64 extending from the arc portion 63 for the anti-splash cover 60 to cover the U-shaped opening 13 with a greater width. In the embodiment, the anti-splash cover 60 has an inner surface made of water proof materials and an outer surface made of cloths.
The displaceable covering piece 70 is arranged under the U-shaped opening 13 correspondingly and has a front end thereof connecting to a pair of bands 71; each band 71 has a free end 711 individually passing through the front passage 40 on the same side and fixed on the front suspender 20 on the same side, and a rear end thereof is connecting to a pair of strips 72; each strip 72 has a free end 721 individually passing through the rear passage 50 and the guiding ring on the same side and then upwardly positioned to each side.
The pads 14 are made of soft materials with ventilation sewn on a position corresponding to buttocks of human body and arranged across the covering piece 70, forming a space S between the pads 14. In this embodiment, the pads 14 can be made of sponges or silicon rubber to elevate the sitting position of buttocks of human body and to form the space S as shown in
With structures disclosed above, when pulling the strips 72 backwards, the covering piece 70 would displace backwards and uncover the U-shaped opening 13 for a user to perform excretion; when loosening the strips 72, the covering piece 70 would displace back to an original position and cover the U-shaped opening 13.
In this embodiment, each front suspender 20 further includes a tri-glide buckle 22 for the free end 711 of the band 71 on the same side to pass through for positioning and adjustment. With reference to

Lastly, the present invention is designed to be compatibly in use together with wheelchairs and nursing beds shown in
Although particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
