Claims
- 1. A device for operating a control pedal of a vehicle, comprising:
- a body;
- a pedal actuator mounted on the body;
- a connecting rod coupled to the pedal actuator, the connecting rod being engageable with the control pedal for reciprocating motion relative thereto for depressing and releasing the pedal when the connecting rod is reciprocated by the pedal actuator; and
- a pivot bracket drivingly interconnecting the connecting rod and pedal actuator, the pivot bracket being movably engaged with the body.
- 2. The device of claim 1, further comprising a hollow pedal sleeve configured for closely receiving the pedal therein.
- 3. The device of claim 2, further comprising a ball joint connector coupling the connecting rod with the pedal sleeve.
- 4. A device for operating a control pedal of a vehicle, comprising:
- a body;
- a pedal actuator mounted on the body;
- a connecting rod coupled to the pedal actuator, the connecting rod being engagable with the control pedal for reciprocating motion relative thereto for depressing and releasing the pedal when the connecting rod is reciprocated by the pedal actuator, the connecting rod telescopes, such that a length of the rod can be selectively established the connecting rod includes a first rod segment, a second rod segment, and a locking ring, the locking ring being manipulable between a locked configuration, wherein the first rod segment cannot be longitudinally moved relative to the second rod segment, and an unlocked configuration, wherein the first rod segment can be reciprocated relative to the second rod segment;
- a trunnion housing attached to the body; and
- a trunnion positioned in the trunnion housing for surroundingly supporting the actuator.
- 5. A vehicle, comprising:
- a control pedal;
- a device for operating said control pedal including:
- a body;
- a pedal actuator;
- a connecting rod coupled to the pedal actuator, the connecting rod being engageable with said control pedal of the vehicle for reciprocating motion relative thereto for depressing and releasing the pedal when the connecting rod is reciprocated by the pedal actuator; and
- a pivot bracket drivingly interconnecting the connecting rod and pedal actuator, the pivot bracket being movably engaged with the body.
- 6. The vehicle of claim 5, further comprising a hollow pedal sleeve configured for closely receiving the pedal therein.
- 7. The vehicle of claim 6, further comprising a ball joint connector coupling the connecting rod with the pedal sleeve.
- 8. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the connecting rod telescopes, such that the length of the rod can be selectively established.
- 9. The vehicle of claim 8, wherein the connecting rod includes a first rod segment, a second rod segment, and a locking ring, the locking ring being manipulable between a locked configuration, wherein the first rod segment cannot be longitudinally moved relative to the second rod segment, and an unlocked configuration, wherein the first rod segment can be reciprocated relative to the second rod segment.
- 10. The vehicle of claim 9, further comprising a trunnion housing attached to the body and a trunnion positioned in the trunnion housing for surroundingly supporting the actuator.
