Claims
- 1. An aromatic heterocyclic polymer having repeating units of the formula ##STR9## wherein n is 1 or 2, and Q is ##STR10## wherein Z is --O-- or --S--.
- 2. An aromatic heterocyclic polymer having repeating units of the formula ##STR11## wherein n is 1 or 2, and Q is ##STR12## wherein Z is --O-- or --S--.
- 3. An aromatic heterocyclic polymer having repeating units of the formula ##STR13## wherein n is 1 or 2, and Q is ##STR14## wherein Z is --O-- or --S--.
- 4. A method for preparing a polymer having repeating units of the formula ##STR15## wherein n is 1 or 2, and Q is ##STR16## wherein Z is --O-- or --S--. which comprises reacting an amine monomer having the structure ##STR17## with a heterocyclic terephthalic acid of the formula ##STR18## wherein Q is as defined above and n is 1 or 2, in polyphosphoric acid at a temperature of about 100.degree. to 200.degree. C. for about 18 to 36 hours, and recovering the resulting polymer.
- 5. A method for preparing a polymer having repeating units of the formula ##STR19## wherein n is 1 or 2, and Q is ##STR20## wherein Z is --O-- or --S--, which comprises reacting an amine monomer having the structure ##STR21## with a heterocyclic terephthalic acid of the formula ##STR22## wherein Q is as defined above and n is 1 or 2, in polyphosphoric acid at a temperature of about 100.degree. to 200.degree. C. for about 18 to 36 hours, and recovering the resulting polymer.
