Claims
- 1. A biologically pure culture of Penicillium sp. DSM 4209 or DSM 4210 and mutants thereof which are capable of producing compounds of the formula I: ##STR6## in which, independently of one another, R.sup.1 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, or together with R.sup.2 and the carbon atoms to which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are attached forms an oxirane ring;
- R.sup.2 is hydroxyl, or together with R.sup.3 forms a double bond, or together with R.sup.1 and the carbon atoms to which R.sup.2 and R.sup.1 are attached forms an oxirane ring;
- R.sup.3 is hydroxyl, or together with R.sup.2 forms a double bond, or together with R.sup.4 forms a double bond;
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, or together with R.sup.3 forms a double bond; and
- R.sup.5 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, or an oxo group.
- 2. The biologically pure culture of Penicillium sp. according to claim 1, wherein said biologically pure culture is DSM 4209.
- 3. The biologically pure culture of Penicillium sp. according to claim 1, wherein said biologically pure culture is DSM 4210.
