Claims
- 1. A performance-based supply chain management system for automatic alert threshold setting based on historical data relative to a key performance indicator to be monitored for a buyer-supplier engagement comprising:
an engagement module through which a buyer-supplier engagement is initiated, the buyer-supplier engagement providing an identification of a product to be supplied and at least one key performance indicator by which performance of that buyer-supplier engagement is to be monitored; a monitoring module for monitoring performance of the buyer-supplier engagement through a server module associated with the monitoring module, the monitoring being based on the at least one identified key performance indicator; an alert threshold module for setting a default thresholds for alerts associated with the at least one key performance indicator based on historical data related to that key performance indicator; and an alert module, cooperating with the monitoring module, for generating an alert when a monitored value for a key performance indicator exceeds the specified alert threshold.
- 2. The system of claim 1 wherein the historical data comprises data related to products similar to the product being supplied in the buyer-supplier engagement.
- 3. The system of claim 1 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements monitored by the system.
- 4. The system of claim 1 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements supplied to the system.
- 5. The system of claim 1 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product from an earlier buyer-supplier engagement between the buyer and supplier.
- 6. The system of claim 1 wherein the alert threshold module adjusts alert thresholds based on historical data collected during a buyer-supplier engagement.
- 7. The system of claim 6 wherein the historical data comprises data related to products similar to the product being supplied in the buyer-supplier engagement.
- 8. The system of claim 6 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements monitored by the system.
- 9. The system of claim 6 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements supplied to the system.
- 10. The system of claim 6 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product from an earlier buyer-supplier engagement between the buyer and supplier.
- 11. A server system to which at least one buyer terminal and at least one supplier terminal connect to participate in a performance-based supply chain management system, the server system providing automatic alert threshold setting based on historical data relative to a key performance indicator to be monitored for a buyer-supplier engagement, the server system comprising:
an engagement module through which a buyer-supplier engagement is initiated, the buyer-supplier engagement providing an identification of a product to be supplied and at least one key performance indicator by which performance of that buyer-supplier engagement is to be monitored; a monitoring module for monitoring performance of the buyer-supplier engagement through a server module associated with the monitoring module, the monitoring being based on the at least one identified key performance indicator; an alert threshold module for setting a default thresholds for alerts associated with the at least one key performance indicator based on historical data related to that key performance indicator; and an alert module, cooperating with the monitoring module, for generating an alert when a monitored value for a key performance indicator exceeds the specified alert threshold.
- 12. The system of claim 11 wherein the historical data comprises data related to products similar to the product being supplied in the buyer-supplier engagement.
- 13. The system of claim 11 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements monitored by the system.
- 14. The system of claim 11 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements supplied to the system.
- 15. The system of claim 11 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product from an earlier buyer-supplier engagement between the buyer and supplier.
- 16. The system of claim 11 wherein the alert threshold module adjusts alert thresholds based on historical data collected during a buyer-supplier engagement.
- 17. The system of claim 16 wherein the historical data comprises data related to products similar to the product being supplied in the buyer-supplier engagement.
- 18. The system of claim 16 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements monitored by the system.
- 19. The system of claim 16 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements supplied to the system.
- 20. The system of claim 16 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product from an earlier buyer-supplier engagement between the buyer and supplier.
- 21. A method for automatic alert threshold setting based on historical data relative to a key performance indicator to be monitored for a buyer-supplier engagement comprising the steps of:
enabling a buyer-supplier engagement to be initiated, the buyer-supplier engagement providing an identification of a product to be supplied and at least one key performance indicator by which performance of that buyer-supplier engagement is to be monitored; monitoring performance of the buyer-supplier engagement through a server module associated with the monitoring module, the monitoring being based on the at least one identified key performance indicator; setting a default thresholds for alerts associated with the at least one key performance indicator based on historical data related to that key performance indicator; and generating an alert when a monitored value for a key performance indicator exceeds the specified alert threshold.
- 22. The method of claim 21 wherein the historical data comprises data related to products similar to the product being supplied in the buyer-supplier engagement.
- 23. The method of claim 21 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements monitored by the system.
- 24. The method of claim 21 wherein the historical data comprises data related to the same product in the buyer-supplier engagement from other buyer-supplier engagements supplied to the system.
