Personal Napkin Holder

Abstract

The Personal Napkin Holder is a necklace with clips on each end which will be attached to a cloth or paper napkin to protect clothing when dining. The necklace may be beads, a chain, or ribbon. The clips may be binder clips, alligator clips or specialty clips capable of holding the napkin securely. The necklace is worn around the back of the neck with clips at front to attach to the napkin that protects the wearer's clothes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

When the elderly or infirm dine, especially in public, they need protection for their clothes from food that is dropped. At the present time, the only protection that is available is a bib, or napkin tucked in or tied at the neck. These solutions are not dignified. The solution of having a tasteful chain or string of beads connected to clips that will hold a napkin for this protection solves this problem with dignity.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The Personal Napkin Holder is an attractive necklace of beads, chain, or ribbon with each end attached to a clip. The clip may be a binder clip, masculine in nature, a simple alligator clip, or other clip sufficient to hold the edges of a cloth or paper napkin. The necklace goes around the back of the neck, and the clips are attached to a cloth napkin or a paper napkin in the front. This allows the wearer to have an attractive way to protect clothing at a restaurant or at home without the indignity of a bib or of a napkin tucked into the neck of a shirt or blouse. It can be carried easily and efficiently by man or woman in a pocket or purse.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The Personal Napkin holder is made as follows:

• • 1. Beads are strung on stringing material that does not break easily. The beads may vary in size and color and material, depending on whether one desires a masculine or feminine look and on the desired expense of the finished napkin holder. The string of beads will be 20″ or 22″ or 24″. A clip is attached to each end of the beads by means of a small round link. The clip may be a small binder clip, an alligator clip, or other specialty clip capable of holding a napkin securely.
  • 2. A ribbon or jewelry chain of 20″ or 22″ or 24″ is attached at each end to a clip as described above.

The necklace portion of the napkin holder is worn around the back of the neck with the clips forward on the front. Each clip is then attached to the side of a cloth or paper napkin so that the napkin covers the front of the shirt or blouse of the wearer. The clothes are thus protected from falling food or liquid in a dignified and attractive way.

Claims

1. This invention of the Personal Napkin Holder is the attachment of clips to ends of a necklace worn around the back of the neck with the clips forward on the front so that a cloth or paper napkin can be attached to the clips to protect clothing when dining. The claim is the configuration and use of the necklace and clips as a napkin holder.
